A-rod admits to steroid use

More on that story. I read the first 50 comments on the ESPN story about selig and A-rod, and it was unanimous: 50 - 0 against Selig. Isn't there some process to remove a bad commissioner? He is being paid $18 million a year for this job, and his approval rating seems to be zero.

More on this story:

Joe Torre said today that A-rod's accomplishments are tainted.

Does this mean the Yankees championships are tainted? They had steroid or HGH users on the team.

I don't really care what Joe Torre has to say. If he is such a great manager, let's see him win another world series. Let's see him take a good team and make them great.

Torre has no problem taking credit for the 4 world series the Yankees won, but he is pissed off that management wanted him to share some blame for the 7 in a row they didn't win?

How does that make any sense?

Are you kidding me?!

MIAMI - Just days after coming clean about his use of steroids, baseball player Alex Rodriguez will be honored by the University Of Miami Friday.

The University of Miami will be holding a ceremony Friday night for A-Rod as the Canes prepare to name their new stadium after him.

The school will rename its baseball stadium from Marc Light Field to Alex Rodriguez Park. Rodriguez donated nearly $4 million to the school with most of it going to the baseball facility.

Another thread 'bumped' due to the Biogenesis scandal.

This time around though, he [A-Rod] isn't admitting to using PED's, despite what seems to be sufficient evidence to prove his guilt. He isn't exactly denying using them either though, and just keeps on citing this process that they are going through, and that there will be a time to discuss everything, but that time isn't now.

Curt Schilling had put it good in one of the many discussions on the topic on one of the many segments dedicated to the whole Biogenesis ordeal. He said something along the lines of 'There are only two answers to the question of whether or not he [A-Rod] used PED's. No, and then anything else.' Basically he is saying that if A-Rod didn't take any PED's then he would answer 'NO' when asked the question of whether or not he took them, so for him to give any other answer is pretty much an admission of guilt.

If he really didn't take them then there would be no reason for him to reply with any answer other than 'No' and since he is not giving that answer he's just putting it off in hopes that there is insufficient evidence against him, so in the meantime he'll dance around the real answer so that he can say that he didn't lie all these times in the event that he loses his appeal and his suspension sticks.

I just hope that this doesn't turn into the Roger Clemens case where he was brought to court and it was the biggest waste of time ever since all he did was deny everything once again, while everybody knew he was telling one lie after another for the 3-5 hours of the court case that were televised that day, not to mention the countless hours leading up to and following the case in which ESPN did nothing but talk about the case, yet in the end nothing was settled so nothing came from all of that.

How long would it take Ass Rod to score 14 more home runs? Will it be easy to do while he is appealing the ban?

Apparently once he gets another 14 home runs, he gets paid $6M for moving up the all time home run list.
