A rather noobish question. Mirtazapine :/

I wouldn't have made this if I hadn't already searched thoroughly.

I'm going up to my mum's in a couple of weeks to see my little brothers and a bunch of old mates. I can get acid when I'm there, which I haven't been able to do where I am now. Thing is I've been on mirtazapine for a couple of months (30mg/day). It shouldn't have any effect on a trip if I stop a week beforehand, right? Before you tell me that it's not the best idea to suddenly stop an anti-depressant, I know, k? I will take the chance, thanks very much.

Also, I've read about it sometimes potentiating psychedelics, which sounds like utter horseshit, I've also read of people keeping mirtazapine handy to abort trips, which sounds more feasable. Anyone who actually has any anecdotes from themselves or friends on the effect of mirtazapine on the potency of classical psychs would be much appreciated.

Put simply though: will it have cleared out of me completely within a week?

Do not suddenly stop taking Mirtazapine without checking with your doctor. Side effects may occur. They may include abnormal dreams, numbness or tingling, confusion, dizziness, fatigue, mental or mood changes (eg, agitation, anxiety), headache, nausea, sweating, tremor, or vomiting. If you need to stop taking Mirtazapine, your doctor will slowly lower your dose.

Good Luck .......... I stopped it without a tail off, but I had Diazepam.
Don't know how I would have felt if I did not have them.

Yeh, when I ran out once before my doctors oppointment I had widthdrawal symptoms such as those. Tremors and anxiety related symptoms weren't a problem for me as I had propranolol. I can deal with stomach cramps as they only lasted a day or two, and emotionally I didn't feel too out of whack. Although not ideal I'd consider these to be worth it for an acid trip, as the therapeutic benefits I get from tripping are immense (although I'd be lying if it wasn't for the fun too).
