Hey all, I've been reading threads on this site for a good while and finally had a real question to ask... It may have already been answered but I've searched a bit and haven't found anything specific enough.

I have been taking opiates (oxy,perc,tabs... etc.) for a couple of years off and on. But in the past 2 months I've been taking a lot more and have noticed that when I come off of them I feel really depressed, wanting more, insomnia, and in some cases nauseous or even vomiting. Is it worth my time trying to get put on suboxone? I just want some sort of alternative so I don;t have to go out and get pills on the street anymore. And how honest should I be with my doctor? Should I tell him I made myself this way? Thanks in advance.

Of course it is worth it to get on Suboxone. If you have a real problem, and you yourself want to quit to increase your life satisfaction/happiness, please do.

If you still think you can cold turkey, just do that. Barring that, Suboxone is an excellent idea.

You should always be honest with your doctor. You don't have to tell him your life story, just explain how much opiates you are using now, explain what you go through when you don't have them, etc. He may ask other questions or perform diagnostic tests to make a judgment about your level of withdrawal symptoms.
