Eleven wake,
my fast I break,
torment cat, watch it cower.
Give in, feed him,
puss-wah, din din.
Oops I'm late, time to shower.

I go to work,
my duty shirk,
to someone more deserving.
Procrastinate,
from lunch break, late.
On work phone, best friend, I ring.

Time then slows down,
I act the clown,
amusing myself till nine.
Leave work, buy weed,
to friends, I speed,
chopping up we think's devine.

We smoke a cone,
escapes a moan,
elephant monster appears,
my mind gets torn,
by what is norm?
I'm renewing all my fears.

Another bong,
oh! That was wrong.
The MONSTER begins to quake,
I sit and stare,
enough! Cannot bear,
side to side my head does shake.

Forehead to frown,
need to lie down,
escape imagination.
"Hey Grant, wassup?"
"Don't sleep, get up!"
There goes feelings of elation.

Finally sleep,
my mind does reap,
rewards from my wise action.
At eight awake,
route home, I take,
sleep in bed. Satisfaction.

isn't it interesting that even the most ordinary and mundane everyday matters can be compressed and turned into a nice poem? good job buddy! haven't seen too much of you lately, missed your writings.

yeah I've been pretty busy finishing my novel, which I'm pleased to announce is finished. Time to let it rest for a while before going over 1st draft...

thanks, but I think that was the easy part, now comes the hard part of cutting it down (including parts I love), then the even harder process of getting it published. That won't be easy considering it's 140,000 words, maybe 125,000 after redrafts.
