The Curse

Dark, cold, lonely, God's greatest gift? Ha I say the single greatest tragedy to ever hit the earth. What in existence cradles so much power? What can stop dead the heart of the most powerful warrior? What can quiet the pen of the most gifted writer? What can bring to their knees in agony the greatest people who have ever lived? A gift? Nay I tell you this curse uttered upon our race is nothing like a gift. The most effective manipulative force on the planet, the most lethal of killing tools. How easily can it convince one to end a life, theirs or another's? How many wars and battles raged due to this incantation of Lucifer himself? So may lost lives, broken souls, shattered dreams, empty promises, countless tears shed, wounds inflicted, prayers screamed to the heavens with no response. No escaping this destiny of ours. Our pathetic race tries many substances as we bombard our bodies in a futile attempt to try to forget. But yet this infestation lingers in our souls like a cancer. We try to expunge it with song, poetry, art, each to their own devices yet still it lingers. A gift, a thing to cherish and embrace?? Nay I say again Love is the curse of us all.

Welcome to words, ClubNymphs (you're plural?!)! I'm glad you found us. :)

Have a read of our guidelines to get a feel for what we're about... although the best way to get a feel for this is to read and respond to other people's threads. :)

I say again Love is the curse of us all

At the risk of sounding 'uncool', I'll come out and say that I disagree with this. Still, it's great to see someone questioning existence through "free" expression. I'd argue that the freer we allow our expression to become, the more conventional ideas of "existence" seem inadequate.
