Stroking her hair strand by strand
he took the class ring off her hand
everyone watching didn't dare speak
as a silent tear ran down his cheek
through his mind memories ran
of all the times they walked hand and hand
but now her eyes looked very cold
he would no longer have her, never to hold
although he knew she could not hear
he still bent down and said, "I Love You!"in her ear
touching her face he started to cry
he put on the class ring and wanted to die
and just as the wind began to blow
her casket was lowered into the snow.
*Written and revised for my good friend Bobby whom lost his girlfriend of 3 years in a deathly car accident.

If all of my friends were to jump off a bridge, i wouldn't go with them...I would be at the bottom to catch them!

How do you remember this poem from a long time ago???? I am pretty new here....yet i wrote this a couple years ago. I have also gotten this published in a book from a contest i entered it in. Maybe someone like copied my work...man that pisses me off. Wouldn't be surprised though i saw my poem with a different name in an e-mail once sent to my friend....grrrrrrr people need to make up their own original work!

Well yours is a bit different!
This is the one that was passed around when I was in junior high and, they use it for drinking and driving campaigns.
Close to the door he paused to stand
as he took his class ring off her hand
all who were watching did not speak
as a silent tear ran down his cheek
and through his mind the memories ran
of the moments they walked and laughed in the sand
but now her eyes were so terrible cold
for he would never again have her to hold
they watched in silence as he bent near
and whispered the words....
"I love you" in her ear
he touched her face and started to cry
as he put on his ring and wanted to die
and just then the wind began to blow
as they lowered her casket into the snow....
