A General Q about Cocaine

Hi All,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Just a quick question regarding cocaine... I've read tips everywhere and often practiced the art of putting a little bit of water up my nose to help the drip and stop clogging... What I wondered today was, does the high from Coke come from the substance going to your brain through your nose or the drip going down your throat and dispersing through your body?

It may be a silly question but if anyone will know it will be someone from here. :D

You're in the right place.

Most of the high from snorting cocaine comes from it going right into your blood and then right into your brain, because the membranes in your nose are very thin, allowing whatever you're snorting to go right into your blood. That way the drug in question (in this case, cocaine) gets to your brain that much faster.

However, some of the high from snorting cocaine does come from the drip and the resulting drip going into your stomach, being absorbed there, then ending up in your bloodstream.

Thanks NeighborhoodThreat.

Would that mean that using too much water to help the substance through your nasal/throat pasages is a bad idea for that "Cocaine High" if most of it comes from the substance going to your brain?

Personally I've noticed that the more that drips down my throat (with the aid of water) the quicker the high from the Coke dissapears. Is using too much water goingto make a difference?
