Hi,

I ordered a test kit (EZ test complete) and received it today. The Mandelin reagent liquid in the bottle is white like milk… is it the normal color of the product? I’m wondering if the reagents are still usable.

Mandelin will often precipitate out a yellow-orange compound when cooled, although it should still work OK. If you haven't shaken the bottle, then don't. Just let it settle and see if the liquid returns to its normal color (yellow or yellow-orange)

I've reduced the temp of Mandelin to ~0*C, but no lower. I'll try to do that over the next few days and report back to you. It won't be an EZ product, but the Mandelin reagent (Enlighten) is made by much the same formula.

In the meantime I'd suggest testing a bit of a known substance with the Mandelin and see if color responses are typical.

When you say “the normal color for mandolin is yellow or yellow-orange”, do you mean like an opaque color or a clear liquid? I don’t know if the liquid is really white: I didn’t open the bottle just in case I could have a return from EZ-test service and the bottle is made of an amber coloured glass. But the liquid I can observe through is opaque like milk and have a pale color.
Is it normal?

Thank you for your help!

It's normally kind of a slight opaque, but you can't really tell by looking through the amber bottle. I feel fairly confident in saying it should be OK.

no reaction with Robadope

English is not my first language, sorry for the mistake I will do…

Ok, so I tried my new test kit. I still have a sample of each of the following pill. These pills were already test with my “dancesafe kit” (Marquis, Mecke, Simon). So I had only tested it again with the Mandelin and the robadope (from the EZ test complete). Phase Dancer, you were right…the Mandelin reagent was ok, I had typical color responses: Black for MDA and MDMA, light green for Speed and light orange for DXM.

My problem now is the Robadope reagent. I tested each sample and had no reaction! I was specially surprise to have no reaction from the Blue Fish and the White Capsule because I know they are MDA, and I should have a reaction with the Robadope for primary amine… but nothing. I noticed when I first open the kit that the Robadope bottle had a dry trace of the liquid at the bottom of the cap. More, there were some in the tread of the bottle after opening it. That was dry to. I noticed when I first open the kit that the Robadope bottle had a dry trace of the liquid at the bottom of the cap. Is it possible that the product was oxidizing, if the bottle was not sealing right and that this one don't work anymore?

Blue Fish result (the light blue color on the picture is due to the pill color, no reaction was observe when I had the second Simon’s solution).
