Joy you have brought me
and from that I can’t hide,
but of what to say next
carefully I must decide . . .
A comfort has descended
profound in its warmth,
and in seeking its origin
I place you at its source.
A bitter after-taste
did linger and burn
but with what you’ve imparted
I’ve learned how to turn
these memories around
and bask in this glee
from brightening my days
and helping me to see
that the picture which
used to look so Kafkaesque
will not be forgotten
but gently put to rest.
I’m now building the courage
to tell you much more
but I still need more time
to allow these feelings to explore
the labrythian chambers
of my hearts weary mansion
and release from its hiding
a free, unrestrained passion.

nice :) this is a different kind of voice for you... this feels more ancient in its rhythm and structure that other things I've read...and I like it. The language itself can be polished a bit, but then can't that apply to all of us? :) good work.

and all this time i thought you were a-sexual. poetry is the best!
i agree with silverwheel, although he may not have meant it this way, but sometimes i think "big words" get in the way of the flow....but that is probably just because i dont know what they mean
ahh well i like it!
hey jared is that you????

Of course. On any other subject in the world, it is possible to practically destroy the english language as we manipulate it in order to provide just the right description of a thing.
Yet when it comes to love, we are so often taken back to simplicity. In language, in feeling, in all. This is just as well-written as anything I've read of yours, dear, and it pulls at my heart and mind just as much. I will always have love for the part of your mind and soul that I have been honored to know.
