a few tryptamine questions

Hello all, I am somewhat experienced with psychedelics having done LSD and 2C-E several times now and to a lesser extent shrooms and DXM. The only time I have ever had a "bad trip" was the 3rd time I did shrooms. I only point out it was my third time so you know I've done them beforehand with no ill effects. On this particular night i took around 5 grams of shrooms and can say without a doubt this was way too much for me.

I won't go into great detail on the trip because that's not really part of the question. The stimulation hit me in what seemed to be 15 minutes which caused me to panic just a bit because i had never felt it kick in so quickly. Before i knew what hit me I was tripping harder than i ever had, crazy crazy visuals and head space. Nothing i couldn't handle though. What bothered me was the intense stimulation i was getting, like nothing i had ever felt before. I was sweating non stop and pacing back and forth in my room for hours. What really freaked me out was when i lost all control of my body, i know shrooms sometimes cause nausea but this was a different story. I don't mean to gross anyone out but I began to vomit, urinate, defecate, and oddly enough ejaculate(without an erection) a couple of times uncontrollably. Plus some mild siezuring.

While this state my body was in certainly concerned me I knew i would soon be back to normal. I was never in the crazy "oh I'm going to die" head space. Oddly enough i think i was freaking my friends out more than freaking myself out, I assured them i was fine and it was just the drug. Since that night I have only done shrooms one more time. I ate around 2.5-3 grams and did not enjoy it much, again it was the body stimulation. While this time it wasn't overwhelming it certainly was not enjoyable which i find weird because a lot of people say the body buzz is the best part about shrooms.

What i really want to know is if most tryptamines produce the same type of stimulation. I know no drugs are the same and effect all people differently but is the body stimulation from tryptamines at all similar to one another? I would love to explore the depths of DMT but this shroom experience has humbled me quite a bit and I want to know what I'm getting myself into before i make any rash decisions. I also know nothing can prepare you for the complete ego death and earth shattering experience that is DMT but I am ready to feel the LOVE<3

Would maybe trying another tryptamine first be a good idea? I have access to quite a few; 5meo-AMT, 5meo-DIPT, and 5meo-DALT but from what i read they have very mixed reviews. Again a reminder i have taken LSD and 2C-E several times without any ill effects and have loved it every time. Sometimes taking up to 25 mg. of 2C=E at once and wasn't near the stimulation i get from shrooms. I don't want this to be a "should i take this" type thread as I know these aren't allowed. Just maybe trying to get some first hand advice from anybody knowledgeable on the subject. Thanks for your time. Cheers

that's odd, as the 2c's (and e and i specifically) are some of the most stimulating psychedelics...

i've never heard of OVER stimulation from shrooms except for rare reports. you might just be unlucky with shrooms?

try something new, but i wouldn't suggest 5meo-AMT or foxy for your first non-shroom trypt. maybe 4-HO-xxx? i've heard most of the 4-HO tryptamines are pretty gentle/benign, but then again psilocin is 4-HO-DMT... so maybe not. someone should be able to give better advice

4-aco-dmt to me is like a slightly more sedated shroom trip....albiet i never get stimulation from normal mushies though

I thought the same thing about being unlucky with shrooms. Although I did trip twice before on them when i was younger and remember loving it. One of those times was on half an 8th though so maybe i just don't need much at all on shrooms. About the 2C-E that is what I have heard but the stimulation never bothered me too much. The stimulation i got from shrooms that night is like nothing I've felt. More intense than coke or crystal meth. If i wasn't frantically pacing back for forth i would have body seizures and was constantly stomping my feet as hard as i could. I had way too much energy.

Generally speaking, for most people, 4-AcO-Tryptamines are a bit mellower & more laid back than their 4-HO counterparts. Might wanna look into something like 4-AcO-MiPT or 4-AcO-MET. Both of those seem to be a bit more benign than 4-AcO-DMT, which is still pretty benign in lower doses, but absolutely mind-blowing in higher doses. Seems to have fairly little body-load for most though. Definitely do a lot of research on a number of things before deciding though. Ultimately only you can decide what will be best for you.

I still haven't found reliable sources for much besides what i listed. The RC world is still fairly new to me, kinda jaw dropping when you first discover it. Thanks for the advice though, it is much appriciated. i definitely do my research, I've had a gram of 5meo-DMT for over a year now and have yet to even think about trying it yet. I've watched a few buddies do it and actually say they liked the experience. Will more than likely not touch the stuff. Definitely not before i do N,N-DMT

The first few times I tried psychedelics were all very different in emotional and physiological tone. In the twenty+ years since then, the effects of individual materials have become more consistent. You might have had an odd idiosyncratic reaction that third time you tried shrooms, but I would tentatively suggest that it might be OK for you on the next go.

A few more experiences and you will become more familiar with the range of responses your body makes to your chosen substance. Especially if you go carefully with dosage and pay attention to your setting. Next time, if you feel that the experience heading down a threatening avenue, remember what you learned last time: you survived, and maybe you learned something. The analogy of the Rollercoaster comes to mind. It starts, and later finishes somewhere. But you have to go the whole way.

If your mind is cluttered with anxiety about these issues, again this affects your setting and you should perhaps proceed with a lower dose one or two times, taking care to listen to your body and gain familiarity with the effects until they are no longer a problem.
I hope you have some fun/interesting trips. Peace - Pipp
