a few ketamine questions.

Actual experience trumps perceived wisdom and given this is about the third time I've seen somebody saying they got effects from snorting it I'm updating my knowledge base via the vicarious experience of others. Never even crossed my mind to try sniffing it and never known anybody try it (and I've known rather more heroin users than the average bear probably). I dunno. Kids these days just don't seem to get past that stage of sticking anything and everything straight up the hooter. This would explain why you always see a few kids with things lodged in their nostril when you have to attend A&E presumably.

I gave it a go when I found people who did it regularly preceisely because I didn't believe it would work other than the drip in to your stomach. The effects were definitely more pronounced than I would expect from that but not as good as smoking or injecting (obviously). I really hate smoking brown so I went through a short period of snorting lines whilst I pretended to myself I wasn't relapsing before I hit the needle again a while back.

It is a shit ROA, even now if I was to have a choice between smoking a bag and snorting it I would probably choke it down via smoking rather than snorting it even though I hate the flavour.

^ So that's where the inexplicable reference to the horsiness of ketamine comes from =D

I'm the opposite. It used to irk me that I 'had' to inject it cos I <3 the taste of the chasing it. I always described it as tasting like 'fishy vanilla' but nobody seems to agree. Admittedly the combination of fish and vanilla doesn't sound like a winner but I'd sprinkle in on me cornflakes... if it wouldn't result in a massive relapse. And probably not taste very good with milk.

is it normal to feel a bit stomach crampy after and constipated after a ket sesh? sorry if that's tmi.

I seem to get cramps somewhat... I think the root cause is stomach being too acidic in my case. Not uncommon for me to get bloated whilst taking ket...

I definitely found there was a fishiness to the #3 I tried. It was a rather an appealing smoke though somehow.... very easy on the lungs.

^ :D

K kramps after only having used it twice? I seriously doubt it. It is dehydrating stuff though so plenty of water is always wise (plenty not ridiculous amounts), The gut issues could be related to that and fluids should help get things moving along a bit.

Other than dehydration, some people do find ket a bit hard on the tum. Doesn't seem to be everybody (I don't get it) but have seen enough people mention it to know that it's not entirely uncommon. K kramps come waaaaaaaaaaaay down the line after prolonged and heavy use.

I concur, the gall-bladder spasms proper (K cramps) need serious chronic use to crop up and even then some users seem to never suffer much.

I've had dodgy feeling ketamine earlier this year that left me somewhat queasy and hungover into the next day after a moderate 500mg session, never had that happen before and I felt like it was very likely caused by that ket.

I was trying to work out what it's like visually. It's sort of hard to describe. The main thing to me was sort of particles morphing and becoming things like tunnels. big, spacey landscapes. It's not really visual at all in the same way as classic psychedelics though, it's not about that.

Hehe. You can see why it's so damnably hard to explain what it is actually like now - tunnels and big spacey landscapes are very common features though. There is something very sci-fi about the whole thing. Always fascinated me the way so many people report broadly similar themes whilst also being uniquely personalised.

Definitely not visuals in the psychedelic sense but you certainly do still 'see' all kindsa stuff. You can interact with it too - even control it at times and go wherever you fancy going. I think of it more as travelling than tripping. Sometimes travelling as a passenger sometimes setting the destination myself.

My holey last night i was traveling upside down through around beyond the most random stuff, everything flows so randomly. a right ole journey

Reminds me of this... kinda. but with a lot less color. an extended edit i put together
Flying Lotus - Zodiac Shit (Extended Edit)

actually maybe that reminds me of DMT but DMT is more alien. fuck knows

I found it becomes less confusing and seemingly random each time. I think initially it's just so utterly bizarre and bewildering you really are just along for the ride but gradually you do start to learn the lay of the land (or maybe it's the lie of the land) and start recognising consistent features. Think that's why I find it so enticing - as I said before you seem to get ever closer to... something you don't really understand but know you want to. It feels very significant. Whether it is or not I have no idea but certainly feels that way which does make for much temptation to keep at it. It's rather like Xeno's Paradox mentioned in the Did You Know...? thread recently - you never will catch up to that tortoise no matter how hard you try and how far you go. Not in this life certainly. Whatever (or wherever) that ketamine place is it ain't likely to be found on Google Maps and those buggers know where everything in this world is tucked away so must be Elsewhere. Or nowhere. They say the journey is the best part and it certainly is with ket. Wonder if any of us will ever reach the destination? And would that just spoil the fun or do you just cross a border to another place entirely to explore from scratch?

it is a weird, bizzare drug. Far more so than acid imo. It's a bit strange that it's so popular, it really isn't an easy, super friendly accessible drug. At least not to me anyway.

A lot of young people take ketamine but seem to think that LSD will give them a bad trip, but LSD is far more normal and friendly to me.

Yeah can relate to that.. on MXE i kinda found the place, or so it felt. wonky extreme. from what i can remember. i know i shouldnt compare em and whatnot. altho i think it just dug up DMT experiences, cos the whole thing felt very DMT esque... a void of love

Not strange thats its so popular, short duration and euphoria.. embrace.. why would it not be.. and it was very accessable. and in my opinion it seems friendly. fell in love with it instantly

& aye, thats the media propaganda for you/us etc. tbh i was so skeptical of the first LSD trip, and it was much more gentle and friendly than i imagined

Have you ever tried nitrous hex?

It really is bizarre isn't it. Ket is a much stranger and in many ways more disturbing (in terms of understanding and perception of what constitutes reality) experience than acid in my book. It's also far more disabilitating (in that you look like a gibbering mong from the outside) yet many people do seem to believe that acid is the one which takes away all control and leaves you helpless at its whim. As Dan says, decades of anti-LSD propaganda have clearly had an effect :\

Another reason is surely cos ket is usually sniffed and we all know the masses love to hoof fat lines of white powdery substances no matter what they are. The much shorter duration is probably also part of the reason. No matter how far out you are and no matter how freaked out you may get you know you'll always be back to normal within the hour.

Interesting choice of words. I know what you mean but could also be interpreted as a complete absence of love - voids are empty by definition. I still know what you mean though - it's the vastness of it all. Wherever Ketland is it's a big ol' place. Another reason you won't ever reach the end in this world - this world ain't big enough to fit it all in. It does all fit inside the average head though which is rather impressive.
