a few ketamine questions.

One of only two proper 'ego death' experiences I've had was taking ketamine on top of acid. If you think trying to describe what ketamine is like just try describing what that 'ego death' stuff is like 8(

I actually recall it quite well but could in no way describe or explain it. It made me cry though apparently cos I was when I came back to myself. The good kinda crying naturally.

what dosages of ket and acid?

Was years ago and I had a high ket tolerance so specific numbers would be pointless and irrelevant. That and ego death experiences are not dose dependant which is one of many things that make 'em a bit special.

IV'ing Ketamine? don't you only need like 3mgs for it to be a anesthetic?

Depends what your tolerance is like.

Would take me 200-250mg for a full anaesthetic dose in the periods I've been using IV, but you emerge from full anaesthetic in to the k-hole within a minute or two.

That said for someone with no tolerance it would take a lot less to induce a short period of full anesthesia I guess.

There's a really weak batch of K going around at the mo (a big one Before cooked its very powdery with some small shards visable. When cooked up it 'spits' out the pan at low temperatures and then just forms into a 'blob'. U can scrape the pan and the blob/blobs r lineable but not 100% dry. Cost 25 per g and was a waste of cash. Very mild K effects, nothing bad and no hangover. Guy was saying he was going to try and get a refund but unlikely Before that the 2 batches i tried were well potent.

Considering adding a poll to see just how many of us do that 'dividing up the universe' thing. I know it's incredibly common cos have seen so many people doing it (can tell by the hand movements) and have had so many say it. It's one of the few consistent visions that - sooner or later - seems to apply to more or less everybody who takes ketamine. You had that one yet, Dan? As with all things ketty, kinda hard to describe specifically but anyone who's had it will know instantly what I mean by 'dividing up the universe' I suspect.

Yeah I'd agree with Shambles that the best way to describe it is like being in a dream. Also get the helicopter/engine/machinery sounds as well, quite like hearing those noises as you know its about to kick in. I quite often get the feeling I'm travelling when on ket, sometimes floating on the edge of the world, or sometimes I'm just lying on my bed and I feel like I'm getting dragged somewhere, into the k hole I guess.

Would agree with just getting to know it on its own first, it is good with MDMA or 2CB though, never tried it with acid.

Personally with K I like to watch a film, it makes me feel like i'm 'in the film' if that makes sense, it's a tough one to explain, then when you hole the world just changes and you have no idea what's going on, it's just like you're in a different word, as long as I just go along with the trip i have an awesome time.

Films really are excellent on ketamine actually. I know exactly what you mean about become part of the film. They should sell it at cinemas - I'd start going again if they did.

I don't find that kinda thing works so well on ket. What works best for me is mindless stuff. Mindless and pretty. The kinda film I'd maybe not be all that interested in sober but looks amazing on ket. All things sci-fi are generally a good bet. There's actually a thread on that very topic around somewhere. Or was anyway, dunno if it's still around somewhere.

Yeah, IME. As soon as you hoof that line and feel that clinical anesthetic drip you should be feeling it.

Not necessarily a guarantee but I'd be if it didn't hit fairly sharpish after snorting a line. The obvious way to tell is by the fact you also mention it's 'generally a bit shite' - that's always a surefire way to tell

right after further experimentation this is what i've got from ketamine.

doses of about 100mgs are fantastic, I feel light, floatly, dreamlike and blissful. But when I went for the full k-hole (about 200mgs) it was too intense. I was mindfucked but not in a pleasant way, felt like I was crashing through hyperspace, not gently gliding through. Would trying to k-hole when on MD help me have a more positive experience? because it was the most intense thing I've been through in my life and I'm fascinated with the experience, it was just dark and unsettling.

I've taken LSD up to dosages on 550ugs but it wasn't that intense, and it's never gone anywhere near as dark as that before.

I've never once found ketamine dark - totally the opposite - and had always put that down as an intrinsic effect of the anaesthesia aspect. MXE and some of the other related compounds are known for getting dark. Not casting aspersions but are you positive you have ketamine and only ketamine? Only asking cos ket kut with MXE (or MXE cut with lawdy knows what) is frequently sold as ketamine and would be quite hard to tell apart for somebody unfamiliar with them. Then again, you did say it only lasted an hour so probably is ketamine.

You have any other drugs in your system? Or been hammering owt recently? No booze involved presumably (cos that's a Bad Thing with ketamine). Meh. YMMV I suppose.

Yeah, combining with MD is pretty blissful but you can't really hole. I never have anyway. Bumps only when actually peaking on MD and the like, lines when coming down. Doesn't really work taking lines when peaking. Perhaps even try working up to the hole on ket alone instead of jumping straight in. It works quite nicely when you bump yourself into a pleasant stupor then take just a wee bit extra - just enough to drop you over the other side. Another possibility is that you underdosed oddly enough. The only time I know ket to get dark and scary is when you're too far gone to be wonked but not quite far enough gone to be holed. When you're right on the borderline it's freaky as fuck and not in a nice way.

Just conjecture here, I never knew there were different Ketamine Isomers until a few days ago...

I think that the R-Isomer tends to be a bit more of a mind-fuck / get stuck in repetitive thoughts whilst the S-isomer is a more warm trippy experience. That's just my guess going by my experiences over the last week or so.

The ket I used to get would hit very quickly whilst this (what I assume is predominantly S-isomer) builds up but is a much richer experience.

If you've ever had R-isomer I'd be gobsmacked. There's some debate over whether it's even active. Do you mean racemic vs S-isomer, maybe? Racemic is 'street ket' with S-isomer coming from vials only (obviously people can evap vials and sell it as powder but it's pretty rare and often just a marketing ploy). Your descriptions fit best with racemic (loops and mindfuck... unless you get the dose right) and S-isomer being... more 'traditionally' psychedelic in some ways. The most obvious difference to me is that racemic makes you walk like a crab whilst S-isomer doesn't.

Is the onset speed a good indicator of quality etc? previous batch kicked in hard and fast... this stuff delays. and is generally a bit shite

It's been a long time since I had speed but sniffed was always instant bombed should be no more than an hour I would say on a light stomach. I'm no expert though !

The dark feeling for me is how introspective it is. Introspection in itself or on myself is not dark, but seeing one's self in a vivid third person aspect is very strange on the brain. But thats why I love it, its like giving your brain a spring clean.

not going into details about the source but I dare say it's far more likely I got ketamine, and I'm being as cynical as I can, there's a lot of people being fooled if I am is all I'm going to say.

And I was hungover when doing it, and I can get quite bad anxiety when I'm hungover, so that might have made it worse.
