Tired and unfed
we roamed the streets like young animals without mothers
incapable without our precious technology
we yearned to be plugged in
our buildings mocked us with their decay
reaching out at a frightened sky
that had lost all trust in humanity
we murdered everything in His name
our Christians cultivated hypocracy
used our weakness
and prayed for money.
few were ever truly Holy
and fewer by the day
they sunk
and funnelled down drain’s
unplugged by our their own hands
greedy eyes peered through glasses
at life and death control panel buttons
in comfortable captains chairs
beside coffee and donuts
they scorched paths towards gluttonous prosperity
we set the world on fire
with our beautiful machines
gleaming proudly in the presence of death
it crashed
we had stock in nothing now
this power had fallen out of holes in our pockets
and become meaningless
the fat dirty men
clutched their bellies
and begged for what now
they could not buy
Jesus watched
wept
and covered us with his blood
we roamed the streets like young animals without mothers
incapable without our precious technology
we yearned to be plugged in
our buildings mocked us with their decay
reaching out at a frightened sky
that had lost all trust in humanity
we murdered everything in His name
