Desert Island
Through the windowpane
And past the mist-filled plains
Rose a tree of acquired splendour;
For its branches bore no leaves
Taken by nature’s thieves
The sorrow of a cold winter’s day

The air was crisp and cold
The weather which summer sold
Was wandering through the winter season;
Above the cloud-filled sky
The nonexistent sun decry
The sorrow of a cold winter’s day

The winter birds perched tense
Along the snow covered fence
Chirping their winter song;
Beams of light crashed through the dull
Albiet, not enough to annul,
The sorrow of a cold winter’s day
