a coffee filter or cotton ball as a filter

Which one of these is the better filter for IV? A standard coffee filter or the squished cotton ball?

A micron filter is your best best, but cotton is acceptable. Please read up on some basic IVing techniques before attempting to do so.

You might find that using a good, high quality lab filter is best, especially one that says it filters slowly, as thats a good intication that the pores are very small...

If you choose to ignore that advice, just make sure that whatever you inject is as free from particulates as possible.

definitely try and get a high quality fliter, but if you cant get your hands on any of those id go with cotton ball. some people even use the cigarette filter

Something to add. My parents used to roll their own cigarettes and I learned that for a great little cheap filter that isn't hard to work with or messy, tear the tube off one of those and use the clean filter. Works wonders.

cotton.. the cotton on the tip of q-tips is also fine (not as good as micron filters but...)

I think that a coffee filter may be better if used correctly, because i have read that cotton balls let particles through up to 35 microns. The micron rating of a coffee filter is 15 to 30. Perhaps draw through cotton and then let drip through coffee.
