Just found these lyrics that I wrote when I was 18, finishing school and feeling the pressure to become a 'mature adult' and put my dreams on the shelf.
What is lost? And what have i found?
I build my beliefs up so tall
then I tear them all down.
What was the notion?
What did your father say?
"Dismiss the feeling that things they are going to change
We have reason. There is no more to say
It's a feeling that will fade with the day"
Some are born to an empty plate
Others are born full
But all of them take the same bait
You can work sooo hard
You can labour away
But you won't be remembered unless you've got something to say
to your people about changing and breaking away.
They might follow you, follow your ways for a day
then keep fading, fading away
Some are born, then they fade away
they fade like a feeling
like a 'thought-for-the-day'
Wake up, it's morning. It's another day
The sun has brought back a clear sky and all I can say-
some things remain and some things will just fade away

Cheers, Plaz. :)
I think that when I wrote those lyrics I was very depressed and felt that no-one could relate. Back then I didn't have the kind of relationships that I have now.
If only I knew back then that it is actually a pretty common feeling among people that age.
