a benzo that reduces anxiety and increases energy motivation, it exists!

I was a guinea pig for the r-tofisopam that Pharmos is developing for IBS people in the US. However, it did nothing for me. Whether that was because I got placebo or it didn't work I don't know. They never told us any results. I am still eager to try it once it's on the market though.

I was told tofisopam is sold under the name Grandaxin in 13 countries, which includes Korea, Japan, and several Easter European countries. Unfortunately, I don't live in any of those countries.

Oh great! No muscle relaxation, no sedation! That sounds like all we really wanna get from a benzo! Betch, please. That's the last thing I'd spend my money on, seriously, sounds like total crap.

Yes. One of the shittiest benzo ever.

NO sedation, NO muscle/body relaxation, a LITTLE anxiety relief, and anticonvulsant action. Of course NO abuse potential.
On the list of shitty benzos, along with Oxazepam, Prazepam, etc..., it's maybe one of the most shitty.

Only useful if you want benzo anticonvulsant without sedation, amnesia, euphoria or relaxation.....

Never tried Chlordiazepoxide, but I'm sure I would rather have ChLordiazepoxide (which feels similar to Clorazepate from what I've heard) than Clobazam.

Actually, from all the benzos I've tried (about 15), Clobazam is the most shitty, and then come Prazepam and Oxazepam.
 
Hey im a bit of a newbie to benzo's, but Im somewhat relieved to find that I'm not the only one that experiences stimulating effects from clonazepam. I have a desire to clean and organize my house, socialize with new people, and finish the computer programs i've been working on.

Its not just dis-inhibition either. Since Ive been taking the drug (only about a week at ~2.25 mg/day) I have had a much lesser need and desire for sleep. I can stay up into the wee hours of the morning and wake up with the sun, with little sedation.

However, It sure would be nice to put a damper on those pesky (albeit mild) amnesiec effects.
 
"not addicting"--> i dont believe this. is there anybody who has taken it for 3-4 months on a daily basis? i dont think so...
heroin was sold as a non-addictive substance after its invention, too...
 
I have two boxes of Grandaxin sitting in front of me on my desk. I've been taking it for almost a week now, one 50mg twice a day, but don't notice anything different. I am trying it for my IBS and am hoping it will work. I got it from a doc in Japan and he said I should take it for one month before I notice any improvement. That sounds quite long to me!? I think I will up the dose to three times a day as prescribed. Anyone else with updated information about this drug?
 
all benzos make me physically tired but some (like klonopin) make me want to do stuff and get around, even though im tired. its not that much sedating anyway.
 
i love how everybody chimes in and drops a line about a totally unrelated medication =D ...

klonopin makes me tired. Yeah... Great.... Now find the right thread if you want people to care.

Can i just throw in that Diphenhydramine makes me feel really sketchy?
 
Like other have said about xanax, klonopin actually gives me the "motivation" to do things, even though I may appear to be "out of it" or not really paying attention.... hey, atleast I'm getting things done! haha... I can totally relate...

I would too. Driving on temazepam isn't smart. Temazepam is a hypnotic benzo that is normally only prescribed for sleep. Nitrazepam is another benzo I find very sedating/hypnotic. The only benzos I take for for anxiety during the day while going about my normal business is diazepam, clonazepam, and lorazepam. I find these 3 benzos to be only mildly sedating at therapeutic doses.
 
great stuff, but considering it can be find only in a few contries doubt i'll ever try it :(

'baut xanax (a.k.a. xalol in serbia- where i'm from) - can't live without it.
i mean, i can, but i'm like a dead horse then, lol.

i've tried it even before my shrink prescribed it 2 me (not only xanax, but almost all benzos, and my fav is definitively X), i remember i was in a theather and starter jumping and felt thrilled, euphoric, etc- and thinking, god , somethings wrong, this should be a downer, lol (but , guess it's a first time i actually felt 'normal', cause i'm diagnosed with anxiety, and depression )

i abuse it for over 4 years now (plus other benzos, but last 2 only xanax), and it gives me motivation, boost etc. actually, if i take enough of it (i'm on high dosage, average 15-25 mg a day, but i can live on 2 mg- but then, there's like no chance in hell i'll leave the house or do ANYTHING) i won't sleep. i'll make some music, pait or make plans for future....


whateva', xanax gives boost for shure !!



but i'd like to get my hand on some ritalin, and here (serbia) it doesn't exist , as far as i know. i don't know if we even have drugs for ADD, damn !!

srael's Pharmos is buying Vela Pharmaceuticals for $5 million in cash and $24.7 million in stock. Lawrenceville, NJ-based Vela has been developing medicines for diseases of the central nervous system. Once the deal is complete, the new company's lead product will be R-tofisopam, a drug that has demonstrated positive Phase II data for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant and alternating-type irritable bowel syndrome. The Pharmos' clinical pipeline will also include cannabinor, a drug candidate for the treatment of pain, inflammation and autoimmune disease. Cannabinor successfully completed a Phase I trial in January 2006 and is scheduled to begin a Phase IIa trial in the second quarter of 2006.

Damn.... you think? 15-25mg of xanax a day? That's quite a bit, be careful, I'm sure you've worked your way safely (if that's even the right word to use) to that level, but I'd recommend weening down to a lower dose if possible. I can't see how managing that big of a benzo habit would even be feasible without the aid of numerous (unknowing) doctors. But hey, anythings possible!
