Xanax is only benzo I can take and not be asleep in 2 hours. I take morphine, xanax and ritalin daily for severe back pain (spinal injury). When the doctor tried valium, it knocked me out even with the ritalin.

I would consider tomazepam(sp?) to be overly sedating.
i had to pull over and run laps around my car because i kept falling asleep while driving. thats a dangerous benzo. unless your using it to fall asleep.

Actually temazepam isn't overly sedating for me, but it very well could be for a lot of people. I think nitrazepam is more sedating than temazepam.

Driving under the influence of any benzo isn't recommended. It has been proven that they can impair your driving ability. Most benzos prescribed in the States are slightly less impairing than alcohol, but it depends on the dose and the person.

A dose of 30mg or less of temazepam would rarely knock me out, but it would sedate me to a certain extent.

I find bromazepam to have good anxiolytic effects with minimal sedation, but I can hardly consider it to be stimulating.

This will never be available in the USA. Also, benzos affect many people in different ways. Need more than one experience to really even consider this as what one person says it is. I did a bit of research online and found no indications that Tofisopam has stimulating properties. Even the sites I saw that sold the product listed it as a sedative/hypnotic. I have been on benzo therapy for over 10 years and taken all of the benzos available in the USA. While I wil say that Xanax is less sedating than Klonolin or Valium, I would hardly call it energizing.

FYI, phenobarbital is not a benzo but a barbituate. It is one of the slow acting ones and is not usually described as recreational like the fast acting ones (seconal, pentobarbital, etc). It is also dangerous and in high doses can cause death, unlike most benzos which just put you in a coma...

no benzo gives me energy, that is almost a contradiction. however i've fallen asleep on ritalin and adderall but they aren't the strongest stimulants. anyway.

I'D LOVE A STIMULATING BENZO, THAT HELPS ANXIETY AND IBS!!

CNS stimulants are great for ^ ^ ^ ^ except the aren't benzo's but they calm me down and help my anxiety but they have stimulant side effects i dont like, crash, sweating, etc, not to mention making IBS 100000x worse, so a stimulating benzo would be a godsend.

oxycodone is stimulant and relaxing and just great. i wish they'd make a benzo like that haha. minus i guess the pure blissful euphoria / body high / pain killing, etc. still would love to try Tofisopam.

I took tofisopam (grandaxin) in Korea, for control of anxiety, took twice a day, low dose. Very good for lowering number of anxiety-type attacks. No sedation, no side effects at all. Didn't increase my energy, either, just didn't make me at all "chilled out" or sedated like Xanax. Tofisopam is also okay to take every day, unlike addictive ones like xanax. Does anyone know what other countries tofisopam is available in, as I don't live in Korea any more, but it works really well for me...?

xanax definitely makes me energetic in the sense that it gives me ' motivation' to do crap i don't usually like to do, as others have already mentioned.

but i assume, from afar, it must look like I am a zombified automaton, cleaning my apartment and doing laundry.. slowly, in lethargic steps, looking straight forward with a face devoid of emotion... however i FEEL good.. so isn't that all that matters?

Sounds completely underwhelming from a recreational standpoint, possibly quite good for helping anxiety though.

It's pretty much the sedating, hypnotic, muscle relaxant type effects that people seem to enjoy when they take benzos to get a buzz. If you want stimulating effects, why not take a stimulant? They're going to be better for that, period.

Wonder if this could be used to replace alprazolam in order to quit cold turkey.

I found that in the begining of Xanax use that it did give me energy AFTER the initial knockout. So I would take my prescription in the evening before bed. Wake up feeling GREAT!!! even though its only supposed to last 4-8 hrs?????? I would feel no anxiety for the rest of the day even the the doc said take 3 times daily.

After my body adjusted to the drug I went to the 3 times a day thing and I feel no effects other than the anxiolytic properties and some motivation (especially for social interaction). I can't vouch for the energy increase after extended use due to the fact that you are deprived of 4th stage REM sleep. You will begin to feel exhausted all the time.

My friend took ritalin for back pain. Its to counter act the Xanax and Codine (or in the bluelighters case Morphine.
