its called tofisopam

wikipedia:
Tofisopam (marketed under brand names Emandaxin and Grandaxin) is a drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative. Like other benzodiazepines, it possesses anxiolytic properties but not anticonvulsant, sedative,[1] skeletal muscle relaxant, motor skill-impairing or amnestic[2] properties. While it may not be an anticonvulsant in and of itself, it has been shown to enhance the anticonvulsant action of classical 1,4-benzodiazepines such as diazepam (but not sodium valproate, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, or phenytoin).[3]

Tofisopam is not approved for sale in the United States or Canada. However, Vela Pharmaceuticals of New Jersey is developing the D- enantiomer (dextofisopam) as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome.[4]

and 1 user experience i found on the net
I tried it while living in Egypt :

It comes in 50mg and the usual effect lasts 5 hours. It is usually taken in 100mg 3 times daily, and is not recomended to be taken befoe bedtime because it is the only "STIMULANT BENZODIAZEPINE" on the planet.

My experience is that it gives you a relaxed feeling combined with excellent concentration, motivation and sociability, without any muscle relaxant or any sedative, amnestic proporties + NO withdrawal effects at all
Its structure is fundementaly different from any other BZ (2,3 benzo) and, from my own experience I believe that it must be affecting dopamine in a way

The great thing about it is that you can take as needed for focus + anxiety or chronically without worrying about withdrawal.....

I know I might sound talking about a fantasy drug ,but the truth is that I only stopped it because I left Egypt and could not find it in the other countries I lived in......

Acta Pharm Hung. 1993 Mar;63(2):91-8.

Excerpts from the clinical-pharmacologic and clinical studies of Grandaxin

Szego J, Somogyi M, Papp E.

EGIS Gyogyszergyar Rt., Budapest.

The authors give a selection from the clinical-pharmacological and clinical studies of Grandaxin (tofizopam), an original Hungarian compound registered in 1976. Tofizopam, a 2,3-benzodiazepine derivative, differs from "classical" 1,4-benzodiazepines not only in chemical structure, but also in pharmacological and clinical-pharmacological properties. It is an anxiolytic without sedative-hypnotic, muscle relaxant and anticonvulsive effects. Tofizopam does not impair psychomotor and intellectual performance, like other benzodiazepines do, in the contrary, it has a mild stimulatory activity. It is potent in alleviating vegetative symptoms accompanying anxiety disorders. Tofizopam has a very low toxicity, mild side effects. The administration of tofizopam does not lead to physical or psychic dependence.

I have tried many benzos, but I find that xanax do me energetic. So why do use such rare benzo when you have xanax

I've heard Xanax called alot of things, but energetic isn't one of them.

^ makes me bounce off the walls, the the disihibition more than anything that does that though, like alcohol.

but this benzo isnt supposed to cause any tolerance or addiction, i would say this stuff is superior, gonna find a way to get it and try this stuff:)

Interesting, I wonder how it feels. Personally I don't mind taking therapeutic doses of benzos throughout the day when I need them. They are somewhat sedating, but not overly so. The idea of a stimulating benzo seems almost like an impossible concept since most stimulating drugs induce anxiety. I'd imagine that taking tofisopam would be like mixing valium and caffeine or something.

i also find xanax gives me energy. when i take xanax, i suddenly have the motivation to do my laundry, clean my apartment, etc. of course its a downer but so is alcohol and alcohol can also give people energy at the right dose.

if its not aproved for sale then i dont really care :( id be nice to try out, sounds interesting.

That looks like a really interesting drug. I always experience severe amnesiac effects from benzos which keeps me from using them often. That would be really nice to have the anxiolytic properties without any of the less desireable side effects. The closest benzo to this that ive experience is bromazepam, but even this benzo still has some of the bad side effects.

I actually find that im much more motivated and energetic now that im on clonazepam then i was when i wasn't taking it. Before i started taking it i was crippled with anxiety and panic attack's which i think was the reason why i was very unmotivated. Clonazepam took away my anxiety and panic attack's so i could actually get on with my life. It also gives me no real sedation at all.

It also improved my attention span and memory even though that goes against all logic. I find that im not as easily distracted now that im on clonazepam.

I would consider tomazepam(sp?) to be overly sedating.
i had to pull over and run laps around my car because i kept falling asleep while driving. thats a dangerous benzo. unless your using it to fall asleep.

Edit: Phenobarbital is a Barbiturate
it was my bad I wasn't thinking when I read
the thread and I've seriously been doing
research and more research so basically
my lame excuse it that I'm tired, after
all, its 4:00am here in Baltimore.

I'm not exactly sure which of the benzo's you were talking about that did that but I know exactly what your talking about i actually have a few they are white phenobarbital

color: white
shape: round
imprints: imo a fancy looking letter 'R' on one side, with the numbers 028 on
the other side. (also a 1 line going down on the side with the numbers for cutting in half purposes i suppose, these are 30mg's which i recieved 30 of them on 2/19/07.. they were prescribed for headaches/migranes which i rarely do get but for some reason my doctor thought this would work best for me..

anyway i believe this may be what u are talking about if not then i just feel lk a dumbass for explaining all that but i figured it was because if u read about phenobarbital on various sites you'll find the same effects of the drug you've just explained in your post about the drug.. i myself mostly absored most of the information searching on wikipedia and checked a few sites here and there just like anyone else can.. im not really the type to give hints on how to go about getting a med you want from your doctor but keeping this off the record internet wise and so forth.. you should first read up on the drug Phenobarbital just to re-assure yourself of the effects and huge potence of the drug, i have only taking a half before because i was already on xanax that night at the time i was in the process of taking the phenobarbital.. both times i was on other benzo's while trying the phenobarbital due to not being aware that i'd be taking it that day/night but i can tell u 1 thing if ur on other benzo's etc, energy isn't quite kicking in very much when you first try the phenobar, i'd suggest you take the phenobar alone on its on as it is potent enough by itself and i doubt you'll reep the full effects of it... anyway i plan to take a whole 30mg 1 tomorrow just to see if it makes me tired like every other benzo which is obviously the worst part about benzo's while in my opinion anyway.. the way the phenobar is suppose work so word going around is that it has a bit of an energy boost, which is obviously making it such on high demand right now... I hope I was helpfull as possible for everyone and if theres any more questions you may think of asking im no expert but i may have forgot to explain them or have remembered them from my experience on the phenobarbital.. oh and by the way, i hope the phenobar was the drug u were actually speaking of not being able to find around you, or i totally just wasted a good 10 tired minutes talking about something you may already completely know about haha.. eitherway good luck

yeah a wonder-drug, i'm sure the side-effects will come later...

reminds me of the SSRI's...

uea..

xanax definitely makes me energetic in the sense that it gives me ' motivation' to do crap i don't usually like to do, as others have already mentioned.

but i assume, from afar, it must look like I am a zombified automaton, cleaning my apartment and doing laundry.. slowly, in lethargic steps, looking straight forward with a face devoid of emotion... however i FEEL good.. so isn't that all that matters?

I'd more accurately say it "removes your inhibitions"

Also, if you're addicted to benzos (not saying you are), then of course they would make you 'motivated,' since you'd need it to function.
In that respect, opiates used to motivate me, even give me energy when I used them, because otherwise I'd be a sick, anxious, parasuicidal mess.

(Also, you seem to like the word automaton. Nice $10 word!)

clonazepam gives me energy in a really strange way. i'll be sooo tired, and not want to go out at all, and after i take it i just want to call everybody in my phone and find something to do... it's crazy. but this sounds very interesting as well. wonder if it can be ordered online....?
