I'm a seasoned vet but this is my first rodeo with subs.. I need to know if I take this strip before work is it gonna have me running like a chainsaw like methadone or am I gonna be drooling. I wanna know how much to take. I've got my dope sick relatively under control but have back pains and body aches from years of hard work and have no desire to stop opiates. I just need limited pain and a little buzz

more then likely it will cause you to be energetic, however 8mg is a hefty dose if your not opiate tolerant, and at the same time you may feel a real heavy sedated high, it can go either way, opiates tend to stimulate me and help depression, when I was RXed suboxone, and when I took it in the morning it was lke my "wake up" it woke me right up, lifted my mood and got me thru the day, anything more then a 8mg film a day I get negatie side effects. anxiety, irritability, etc...when I first started methadone maintenance I recall ever increasing dose making me feel stimulated and dehydrated like I was on sonme sort of amphetamine, im not a nodder with opiates, but everyone is different, due to u being a chronic heroin user and in moderate WD under control, I believe an 8mg dose will have u running around like a chainsaw like methadone :-) and it will help with the pain, temporarily that is, expect the energhetic effects to cease on day 3..

thanks bro!! Yes opiates stimulate me very much and although I'm very opiate tolerant I'm gonna start with 4mg so I wont be runnin like a chainsaw all day and be sore as hell tomorrow.. my usual methadone dose if I find any right now is 20 to 30 mg and it gets me goin good so hopefully this will also

Yeah 8mg is a massive dose for somebody with low tolerance; I'd start with a much smaller dose, taking too much the first time can feel quite unpleasant. 4mg sounds fine, considering your meth tolerance.

Ok so I took half about an hour ago and I'm feeling it now.. Feels good my lethargy is gone my mind is clear and I feel motivated to head out and work my ass off. I think I could have handled the whole thing but I feel sooo much better than I did earlier and now I will have another half for later.. I've been taking opiates since I was 16 and I'm 31 now and been doin landscaping and construction for 17 years so my body is starting to hurt me, I've got a herniated L5/S1 disk pinching my sciatic nerve and I'm trying to keep myself from hurting without getting back into severe addiction again and I've come to the conclusion that this or methadone is gonna be the way to go. Thanks for you guys help =D Even us Vets need a little advice from time to time.. I think i'm gonna update my profile and start chekin this site out more so maybe I can help some people out also. IO learned a lot of stuff the hard way and maybe I can spare some young people the same hard lessons

Can you tell its working..lol I gotta be at work in 30 min and I cant quit typing..lol.
Later guuys

can you change a username on here or do I need to start another account.. I was fucked up when I did the roxyoxy thing 8(

for ME, wheni take 8mg at once, I get negative side effects (extreme irritability, intense muscle tension./anxiety feeling, anti social, I feel like a "duh") *Less is better* is true for me, 4mg max at a time

Your right there; I take 12mg and I feel very anti-social. I really need to taper....
When I took much higher doses, I would black out momentarily, if I stood quickly from a sitting position.
Also it effects my libido negatively, I've heard this is uncommon tho.....

btw you cant change your name, I wanted to change mine; was drunk when picked it.

roxyoxy, how was your work day? I know you checked back in an hour after taking it, but I always found that it took around 3 hours for suboxone to peak when I took it, which is why I tell people to hold out on re-dosing for at least 1.5 hours, otherwise you may end up taking too much.

Edit: And no, you can't change your name. The best you can do is abandon this account and start a new one.

You should be able to get down to 8mg with no withdrawals, so you shouldn't need to taper to there. From there I would go down by 2mg at a time until 4mg, then go by 1mg until down to 1mg, then 0.25mg. But if you are just looking to stabilize at a lower dose try my suggested taper and see how 6mg feels. That seemed to be the highest dose I could take without feeling too many side effects. Alternating days at 6mg and 4mg might even be better than staying at 6mg so that's another option.

Thank's for that, tommyboy; it's very reassuring to know I can taper painlessly. (I've been very worried, to be honest). They have a very slow taper in mind for me, around 1-2 years, as I've been on it for almost a decade.

Well you didn`t say how much you usually use but you say your a vet and have methadone experience so I`d say you should be good and achieve what you want with this dose maybe take a little less. though to try it out at first. But I personally find suboxone to be the more energetic and methadone to be the more drooling of the two drugs so, if you`re anything like me, I`d say it should work out fine!

Well lowering the dose is pretty painless, but you will experience some withdrawals when you fully get off. The severity will obviously depend on the taper, but some people doing proper tapers and getting off at 0.25mg seem to be fine. It's the people that taper too fast and/or jump off at 2mg that have a really hard time, and that's when you hear it being harder to kick than heroin.
