Opioids 8mg Suboxone - First real opiate experience.....What the hell happened???

EXACTLY. There is a reason why only certain DR's can prescribe it. 7 years ago, my DR had a limit of patients he was allowed to help. Not sure if that's changed. Even a bundle a day habit had be nodding off 8mg oral. 16mg made me puke. DR wanted me to take 24mg a day! OH and he gave me Kpins/Xans. WTF?!?!?

I no longer see that doctor.

Dude I need your doctor lol. I heard 1mg suboxone is equal to 20mg oxy. Weird though cause when I was on sub maintenance 4-8mg a day. I would take at least 24 mg trying to catch a nod but never happened, I even iv'd them. If anything it made me a little more relaxed. And I tried the "more is less" idea and that didn't work for me. Maybe with a, smaller tolerance it would of worked

That's because bupe doesn't work that way. It has a ceiling effect and is only a partial agonist, so taking more doesn't increase the effects like full agonists such as methadone and heroin. It's actually more euphoric at low doses, because at doses under 2mg's, the metabolite norbuprenorphine is active, which is much closer to a full opiate feeling. Still though, if you have even a slight opiate tolerance, you're not getting high from bupe no matter what you do.

VERY good point but didn't bupe itself raise your tolerance? I kicked from a 8mg daily habit and it was literally 3 weeks of hell. So why do some people say when in maintenance 8mg with some bud will make u nod. I've been off and on subs for years now and I've never nodded once, and believe me I tried every possible way lol even iv does absolutely nothing but make it kick in quicker.

Man I was kicken so fucking hard one day after a looong and hard binge. I waited only 12 hours after no dope so I i'vd 4mg sub and HOLY HELL I a full blown heroin w/d was NOTHING compared to precipitated withdrawal. Omg I cringe thinking about that day and that was 4 years ago

Sub doctors are only allowed to have 100 patients. There's some rather strict DEA regulations on prescribing suboxone. It fucking sucks if you actually need it legitimately.

At least you don't have to go every day like methadone (though there ARE sub places like that cropping up).

On a side note, does anyone remember that super catholic, christian, religious mod that used to be here? He took over after negrogesic. I wonder if he's still around? Fuck that dude.

^ Although this thread is quite old, I believe the information I'm about to state may save lives, so it is quite important as I found this thread with a simple Google search.

Since buprenorphine's (Suboxone/Subutex) sublingual bioavailability is only ~30-35%, dosing 4mg IV is equivalent to 12-16mg sublingual bupe, which is a bit past the ceiling dose for norbuprenorphine's (full agonist metabolite) ability to saturate opioid receptors before being completely outcompeted by buprenorphine's competitive partial agonism.

The ceiling dose for norbupe (full agonist, powerful one at that), is 8-12mg Suboxone sublingual, 6-8mg Suboxone snorted, or 2-3mg Suboxone injected/plugged. Reaching the ceiling dose and not surpassing it means you are getting the full potency of the full-agonist metabolite, norbuprenorphine (norbupe).

Please be very careful with this extremely powerful opioid detoxification medicine... it is NOT to be taken lightly for those with low opiate tolerances. If you absolutely insist on taking it with a very low tolerance, try 0.25-0.75mg sublingual Suboxone first, then redose another 0.5mg at least 4 hours later, since it really takes time for it to peak. Forget all other ROA's, the bioavailability increases too greatly for the inexperienced.

I had a very similar experience the first time I did Suboxone. I've had minor experience with opiates prior and when a friend of mine sold me five 8mg pills I went home, melted one under my tongue, felt nothing, dissolved the next one, and then the next one, and then it all kicked in. I was sick for 3 days. The initial high was intense yet still enjoyable, I literally couldn't move, I didn't feel like I was going to die, but I felt overwhelmed with warmth and closed eye hallucinations. A friend of mine did two 8mg pills and had the same experience, an intense high with hallucinations followed by 3 days of vomiting and weakness.

I was a really stupid 17 year old.

I have a pretty decent opiate tolerance so when I have them 4mg snorted and at same time 4mg sublinqual(Subutex not Suboxone) and I am feeling quite nice and satisfied. That is the thing I truly love about them...... I'm not obsessed with doing more and that is a change for me.

I had a similar experience after iv'ing subutex. I think it was probably about 2 mg (in pill form), which I didn't realize would be so powerful given that I was using subs to get off heroin and had a pretty good tolerance. I had been taking 4-8mg daily (SL) before that. It sort of felt like being on ecstasy.. Intense body high, hot flashes, sort of overwhelming and not fun.. Scary. I thought I was going to die. It was miserable. My boyfriend and I both did not enjoy it.. we just sat there killing time hoping it would pass. I really learned my lesson with that one.. I was desperate to get high at the time, but the high this experience produced was not at all the one desired. I would not recommend iv'ing subs to anyone, especially if you don't have an opiate tolerance. Personally, I've never gotten a nod off subs, and after that one negative experience, I've decided it ain't worth trying again.

The first time I iv'ed part of a sub strip (too long ago, don't remember how much I took) also did not produce any positive effects. It basically gave me a headache and made me feel somewhat uncomfortable in my skin...

Now even when I'm longing for the ritual of getting high, I know better.
