Opioids 8mg Suboxone - First real opiate experience.....What the hell happened???

I have a couple real simple questions, firstly;

I had no opiate tolerance at the time, hadn't even ingested a tramadol for three years prior. But I received two 8mg suboxone sublingual strips from a friend; and well, what the fuck

I let it dissolve under my tongue and sit for twenty minutes, then swallowed, what followed was pretty intense. I couldn't move, I mean, I couldn't even lift my phone, my body was flooded with violent euphoria and an amazing rushing sensation, I could hardly see, anything past arms length was blurred beyond recognition, and the majority of the room was cut off by blackness despite the lights being on, like a heavy swirly curtain. I had open eye hallucinations of random shit, deer running, speakers playing in mid air, seeing me laying on the bed stuck as hell, it was unbelievable.

1) How did opiates cause me to hallucinate?

2) Was I near OD?

I didn't think twice about downing the other the next night, after all, I'm an addict and it felt so so good.....well, the third day, I began getting sick; I couldn't keep any food down for three days following the second strip. I had trouble fighting to keep water down, I had to eat a few dramamine to sip on bottled water.

Just curious about the normal dosage range, and why I was trippin off of a "feel gooder" and if I was in danger there.

I generally HATE opiates of any kind, my bio dad died of a Heroin OD when I was two. So, i'm not really after another one.
 
You took WAY TOO MUCH! That's what happened. Perhaps someone with better knowledge of bio chem can explain why you hallucinated. It's happened to me on good tar heroin. As far as whether you were near OD. It's possible... But I have yet to ever hear of anyone ODing off suboxone., though I may be incorrect. You really only should've took 1-3mg MAX. Perhaps next time you should first research the drug you are about to ingest as you could easily kill yourself being so careless.
 
1. Its a psychoactive substance, almost all of them can make you hallucinate to some extent.

2. Technically you did overdose, as you took more than your body could handle and this suffered those negative effects. But you obviously mean an OD in the sense that it would have killed you. Well lets just say you were closer than you want to be.

I suggest you do some research before ingesting drugs. This is a clear case of a bad time being the result of lack of knowledge of the drug.
 
Jesus Fuck that will do it to you for someone with no tolerance. 8mgs is for addicts who are using it to detox or maintain. A good dose for someone without tolerance is like 1mg. Even that will get you fucking floored. I would suggest eating it instead of SL so the norbupe can metabolize and get you fucked up

I was always lead to believe that it's a complete waste to eat subs..

also a good dose with no tolerance would prob be closer to .25 or .50 and 1mg max.

Please research next time before doing something so foolish, you could have easily died.
 
Yeah that was an incredibly high dose of bupe, and had you taken that high of a dose relative to your tolerance of a full agonist without bupe's ability to be difficult to OD on, you would have ended up in the hospital. Reckless doesn't even begin to describe it.
 
I wouldn't have posted this without having some concern for what it did to me, I am aware it was dangerous. It was one of few occasions in which I didn't search it first; as I was teeth deep in a clusterfuck style binge. My judgement was highly impaired. Like I said, I generally HATE opiates, I can't enjoy them in sub-mindfuck doses, because I keep telling myself i'm going to end up like my dad.

I'm not aiming to repeat this, I was asking, so I can tell someone else what's what should I ever see someone about to repeat my mistakes.

You would have had a better experience on 1/8 that dose. Suboxone is potent. Your hallucinations could have been caused by the naloxone in the medication which has been known to cause dissociation in non-tolerant users. Suboxone is one of the few medications of which less is more recreationally. As the dose increases, as does it's negative side effects.

Yeah man, risky stuff.. But we've all been there and had those reckless moments doing some dumb shit..many times actually. Hah.


So, thankfully you're okay and realize it was dangerous, and you'll be safer in the future.

I always found oral as my ROA being the best and longest lasting. 1x8mg per a day versus one every 3 was the shit; especially since the generics were not out yet. Add weed to the mix and you get a great nod. However YOU (OP) shouldn't be using a maintenance drug for opiate usage IMHO.

Back to the topic; may I ask why you chose a maintenance drug over a different opiate?
 
Someone offered me a 2mg tab of subutex when I had little or no tolerance, and I felt it pretty strongly but nothing like you're describing.
 
I wrote this yesterday on another thread about why benzos and Subs have been considered such a dangerous combo:

There is also the fact that people will go crazy and take tons of benzos when starting Subs, or just using them to detox, because they are still sick or looking to still get a nod out high.

But I also believe situations like this OP's are a big reason for it. People underestimate the power of Suboxone so much, thinking its alright to take with a bunch of benzos (clonazepam in this instance). With all the stupid things that get said about it like how its not a real opiate, it doesn't get you high, etc.

EXACTLY. There is a reason why only certain DR's can prescribe it. 7 years ago, my DR had a limit of patients he was allowed to help. Not sure if that's changed. Even a bundle a day habit had be nodding off 8mg oral. 16mg made me puke. DR wanted me to take 24mg a day! OH and he gave me Kpins/Xans. WTF?!?!?

I no longer see that doctor.

I got blackout drunk after my ex left me, and came to, in another state, two weeks later, sleeping with someone else, that I had told i'd date them, while dropping 8mg+ klonopin/day and drinking every day since I started. This showed up somewhere during that time.

Like I said, I usually know what i'm doing before I do it. I've OD'ed too many times to find randomness enticing anymore.

I read the BA for oral sub is aprox 10% vs 30-60% sublingual, supposedly you're also more likely to absorb the naloxone via oral admin.

I always sublingual then spit my subs...
 
I think the number one rule of doing drugs is to atleast GOOGLE WTF YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE BEFORE YOU TAKE IT. 1mg of suboxone with no opiate tolerance is enough to cause you to get violently sick, let alone 8mg. Genius
 
I remember I was in outpatient rehab and I had stopped using opiates for about 1-2months and this girl gave me one of her suboxone pills and I snorted about 4mg or a little more and got violently sick like non stop throwing up all night when I had just done 2mg I had a really nice speedyish high going on, I like the pills a lot more than the strips I like snorting bupe. Then I did more and hell ensued. I'm honestly surprised you didn't OD if your not opiate tolerant and you had kpins in your system you got very lucky my friend never mix opiates and benzos again. Also if u do subs again do .5mg and wait 2 hours an see how you feel.
 
I'm not slow, just very, very sad, and lonely inside.

I know the rules of drugs. If I was truly careless, I wouldn't have cared enough to inquire.
