RESEARCH suggesting that as many as 800,000 people could have died unnecessarily across Europe over the past five years after being prescribed beta-blockers has sparked a row between doctors.

As well as combating high blood pressure, the drugs have also been recommended for use since 2009 to reduce stress on the heart during non-cardiac surgery.

Don Poldermans, former professor of cardiology at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, Holland, and former chairman of the European Society of Cardiology’s (ESC) guideline committee, was exposed in 2011 for fabricating data that had influenced this non-cardiac surgical decision.

Now a controversial study by Darrel Francis, professor of cardiology at Imperial College...

I am pretty sure there is no beta blocker that looks anything like those ridiculous looking, pink, Mentos-shaped pills that are pictured with the article.

I agree, the quotes are strange. And the pills in the picture do look like some sort of neon mentos rtrain. They always use some ridiculous stock photo when theres an article involvng drugs.

I wonder where theyre getting these figures from, yes it may increase risk of death by 27% but how did they get tht number?

Those are mentors the fresh maker... lol

I agree the quotes are retarded if those are actual deaths..

And 27% percent that's accurate.

Journalists should be held accountable for the shit articles they spread with very little accurate information or none at all.
if you dont know.about a topic do some deep research or write about something you remotely understand. Its rediculous if it was any other topic besides drugs they were writing false information about they would be held accountable for it.
