^ Exactly what I was gonna say. There are no Blue Dolphins in Australia that I know of... Not since the mid 90s
THE biggest-ever haul of safrole oil, capable of making at least $70 million of ecstasy, was seized at Port Botany.
Three Sydney men were arrested yesterday after more than 2800 litres of oil in three separate shipments between April and August were seized.
The safrole oil, an extract of sassafras plants, was hidden inside bottles labelled as hair and cleaning products.
Customs and Border Protection staff found the consignments, imported from China.
Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner Kevin Zuccato said: "This is a significant blow, as far as I'm concerned, a lethal blow to this particular syndicate.
"We're not here to play. We're here to do as much damage to these people as we possibly can."
Investigations into the syndicate were continuing and more arrests are possible.
A 27-year-old Lurnea man and a North Parramatta man, 35, were charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, while a Merrylands man, 33, was charged with dealing in proceeds of crime. All are expected to appear in Sydney's Central Local Court today.
In the scheme of things, $70 million is nothing in the drugs trade, even for a small country like Aus. Who knows what else got through while the AFP were concentrating on this bust.
For all I (/we) know, it was a decoy and we're in for a summer of love...
yes, 70 mil in the drug trade could be considered nothin... but were talkin about the MDMA trade, not the whole illicit drug market, and when you compare the amount of MDMA pills floatin around this island to the amount of adulterated pills, MDMA (although slowly makin a come-back) is a scarce thing...
not to mention, it seems all of the current MDMA pills originate from NSW/Sydney, I really don't think this was no decoy.. I think we're fucked...
I guess you're right there.. All we can do is wait and see what happens.
I read somewhere that European cooks can do this. Not sure about Australia.
