6apb shelf life.

Hi,

I have a batch of 6-APB succinate that’s about 2 years old. It’s been stored in a dark place, in the bag it was delivered in. As far as I can tell, the powder still looks the same, maybe slightly lighter in color. The smell seems the same as well.


To what extent would the potency have decreased? Are we talking like 5 or 10%? Or is it hard to say?

I have some from 2017, last used in 2024, still potent

Mdma can last generations, even decades, and still be close as potent or as potent from what I know. I suspect this would be similar

If stored properly it shouldn't have lost much if any potency. I've stored several substances as loose power for years in less than ideal conditions and I've never noticed much potency loss even if the color of the powered changed. The last time I got to taste MXE it was from the original batches that came out of the UK. It had been stored in a wooden box inside of a house with big swings in humidity and temperature. The power had changed from white to an off yellow. I took my usual dose and it was as strong as I remember it being when I first purchased it.

I currently have some MDMA stored in a zip-lock baggie inside of a large plastic green pill bottle with a desiccant pack inside of a freezer. It has been stored there for about 11 years now. I sample some about every 2-4 years. It has lost no potency over that period of time and the color of the crystals/powder has remained exactly the same. I was storing LSD alongside of it for several years inside of a small dropper bottle. It was in alcohol solution. Most of the alcohol evaporated out of the bottle somehow despite the dropper bottle being wrapped tightly in plastic. I added more high proof alcohol to the bottle, shook it and proceeded to take my usual dose (1-2 drops) from the solution. It was as strong as ever. I have also been storing various pharmaceuticals in pill form within the same bottle over the years. Any time I've taken one of them they have not lost any potency.

I had some 5-meo-mipt several years ago that I'd forgotten about which was stored in a damp basement in a small zip-lock bag inside of a wooden box. I found the bag when I was down there looking for something else. I think it was about 12 years old when I stumbled upon it. The color had slightly changed from white to an off-white/yellow. I took a small dose of it a few days later. It was as strong as I remember. 5-meo-mipt is pretty strong by weight but I was very careful not to take much since I'd gotten in trouble with it in the past. I had my usual effects from it.

In general most substances keep well. There are a few that will rapidly degrade but most will keep fine as long as you don't expose them to directly sunlight or temperature extremes. The only thing I've ever had over the years that degraded rapidly when stored properly was HOT-7. Which degraded into 2C-T-7 quickly. It was probably already mostly 2C-T-7 by the time it got to me.

When it was banned in the UK, I brought 20 6-APB pills dirt cheap in a flash sale thinking they'd last for ages.
