So an hour ago i popped a 30mg oxy instant release and about a half hour ago i took another 30mg instant..im definitely feeling the first dose and as time goes by it feels getting stronger and my heart rate ridiculously high so i popped a 1mg xanax...ive never felt my heart rate beat so fast is this normal? i am definitely opiate tolerant as well just my firts time taking such a big dose within an hour

Oxycodone can be stimulating for a lot of people, I imagine that is what you're experiencing. If you're short of breath, consult a medical professional, otherwise, it is most likely the stimulating effect of the oxycodone. The alprazolam (Xanax) should calm you down a bit.

I wouldn't take any more Xanax or other depressants on top of that, however.

Don't worry - as NT said, oxy is stimulating - and once you started to worry that will have pushed your heart rate up more, and by now you are probably panicking hence your heart is racing! If you are opiate tolerant the dose should be fine and not at risk of being an overdose - doesnt sound like it's oversedating anyway! However if you feel that your breathing becomes shallow or you get too drowsy (indicating an OD) or if you get chest pains or shortness of breath, go to the emergency room.. altho if it's the latter I'd be fairly certain it's panic-induced. But we can't diagnose you here - if you are concerned, get medical advice :)

Otherwise sit down, put some calming music or the tv on and take some deep, steady breaths. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon and your heart will stop racing. Good luck! :) <3

Don't be worried unless you have problems breathing, your reaction is more than likely a reaction to the stimulating nature of oxycodone and probably a slight amount of anxiety about the fact that your heart is beating faster.

But yeah, don't be concerned unless you have problems breathing. Take a deep breath and allow the Xanax to kick in, I'm sure it will knock down your anxiety. If you have any problems breathing, contact a medical professional for advice.

you're having a hard time with 1 drug... so you take another.... and then you take another drug...
not very smart

yo0123yo, I don't recommend consuming cannabis if you're already having issues with anxiety (unless you know that smoking cannabis reduces your anxiety beforehand).

I am almost thinking I should close this thread as
a) we can't diagnose medical problems over the internet and
b) if you do need medical help then you need to get it, not be sat here talking to people on a drugs forum!

However, I appreciate you might want some advice on how to chill and calm down and some people to talk to , so I will leave it open. How are you feeling now? Where are you? Make sure you're somewhere where you feel comfortable, maybe ring a drug-taking friend and ask them to come over? Someone who will understand obv not someone who will panic even more because you are on drugs ;)

Try drinking plenty of fluids, sit down somewhere and get comfy, take deep steady slow breaths. Stop checking your pulse, if that is what you are doing, it will only increase your anxiety. You are probably now hyper-aware of your heart beating in your chest, especially after some weed, so it may feel like it is going harder and faster than it really is. Heart racing is not dangerous on its own as long as the heart rhythm is still okay - your heart has regulatory mechanisms in place. And it'd be extremely unlikely that your heart had suddenly decided to change it's rhythm just cos you took some oxy.. extremely unlikely.

Again, if you really are worried or if you can't calm yourself down, you should go to the emergency room, because even though this sounds panic-induced we cannot diagnose you over the net..

Take care of yourself, do something to relax, call a friend if you fancy and don't take any more drugs! :) <3

^That's good to hear. Sounds like you had a mild panic/anxiety reaction to the effects of the oxycodone.

I'm going to close this, for the reasons effie outlined.

yo0123yo, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
