Ok so start with important background info, I was addicted to methadone from the range of 20mg to 40mg for about 4 years. The last 2 of those 4 years I got pretty heavily into crystal meth, 4-5 days a week. So keep in mind these where side by side at the end. The good news, April 01 2015 I checked into Solid Landings rehab center and got off of everything. The hardest thing Ive ever done. Well it has been close to 6 months now and I have some issues and questions.
First issue, I discovered the terrible plant known as Kratom. I have been taking it daily for about 2 months about 10g a day. Other then that nothing else. Its obvious my body has become annoyingly dependant on it and with having a full-time job and bills its difficult to kick, especially with a customer service job.
Second issue, I have not interest in anything at all, i just kind of go through the motions. Wake up, go to work, go to the gym everyday and sleep. I do hang out with friends. I have almost no drive, my interest in the opposite sex is almost non-existent, I no longer enjoy any of the things I used to like video games and watching anime.
My question is, will this feeling of neutrality emotionally and lack of drive get better over time? And also, is the kratom effecting that recovery in a major or minor way? I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and give me some guidance.

okay, a few things here....first off if you would like a detailed way to kick or lower your kratom habit, just message me and i can lay it out for you because ive done it myself. And also, going from methadone to kratom is honestly a great thing, im proud of you for kicking the methadone.

I also had the problem of emotional neutrality recently and i have found that Kanna has worked wonders for me. Its a plant, and it has very subtle SSRI and sedative properties that always put me in a good mood and give me the motivation to do whatever i need to do in that day. I highly advise it, but you have to be prepared to be dependent on it if you want the SSRI activity to stay constant. I find kanna to be so much better than other antidepressants because its natural, its cheap, and it works.

What your describing is called Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome and its very common after kicking opiates. The only real cure for it is time for your brain to find homeostasis. The Kratom stimulates some of the same receptors as methadone so yes it is probably slowing down your brains healing. By how much I cant say? My advice is to taper off the kratom and see how you feel. But depression is just kind of a part of kicking opiates. Best advice is too find fulfilling activities outside of drugs. Also be patient with yourself. You are going through a very difficult process. There is a reason why opiate relapses are so common.

Guys I'll tell you I'm still rock solid on not ever doing opiates again, and its good to hear that kratom isn't hindering my brains ability to heal itself too much. And crimsonjunk I've been going to the gym a lot with a buddy of mine, as well as trying to spend as much time as i can with my family. Ive also started searching for a church to get plugged in to. If its even possible to know, as I know all people are differant, those of you who have recovered how long did it take you to feel normal happiness again?

Edit: Also I've done a bit of research on supplements, so any personal recommendations? Can I buy HTP-5 at a vitamin shop?

Also, reading on this kanna, is it a incense? Do I order it online? Is it taken daily and is it typically pricey? Any recommended places to get it?

I never got any positive results from 5-HTP but some people have, so i cant speak much about it

Kanna is an herb that you can buy online. It is not incense, and to obtain the positive qualities of the SSRI action, its best to take it every day. Message me for recommendations, as it is a rule not to name sources of anything on bluelight.
I take 500mg of kanna sublingually every morning and it lasts me all day. Its not really a high, but putting me in a better mood is a high in and of itself. Also when taking kanna, youll notice the effects on your first usage, but they get better after a couple of days. Usually by the third day, the mood enhancing effects are in full strength.

Also if you are using 5-HTP, DO NOT use it in conjunction with Kanna
