Greetings all,
Lovely to be back here! Unfortunately I wish it was under better circumstances. Long story short, I ended up being prescribed DHC for 3 weeks due to a fracture, so took it daily for 3 weeks (around 150mg a day).

Unfortunately due to having had opiate WD from tramadol many years ago (I posted about it here), when I stopped, the WD from dhc ended up being more brutal that I anticipated. I'm currently on day 3 or 4, and my legs are still aching with rls at night.

Onto the point - a friend gave me a strip of pregablin (200mg) as he said this helps with WDs. I split the capsules down, and I started taking pregab on day 0 - no more that 150mg a day sometimes split up throughout. I took pregab for a total of around 5 or 6 days in total (last dose was last night). I think I probably threw in a valium and half a clonaz in there too (not at the same time mind you)

My question - what are the chances of withdrawing from pregablin? I've read so many horror stories, I wound myself up into a massive anxiety state where I'm just waiting to be shafted my pregablins veiny dick. I've heard the withdrawals are worse than benzos. I cant tell if my anxiety is opiate WD related or whatever but I feel like I may have fucked up bad. I did research pregabs before taking them, but I only recently found stories of people getting fucked even after like 3 days of use.

Can someone put me straight here?

Thanks and love to you all ❤️

Pregabalin is certainly addictive but I wouldn't expect withdrawals from less than a week of use and your dose is on the low side.

My mum was prescribed 300mg a day for neuropathy for several months and has been able to taper that down to 100mg a day within a couple of weeks with no noticeable withdrawal symptoms.

I've never used it for more than a couple of days at a time myself but usually dose 300-450mg and have never noticed any rebound effects.

YMMV of course but I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for the reassuring reply. Stupid question but can opiate withdrawal give you anxiety? I wasn't expecting it to be very intense but the muscles in the legs ache and are sore - plus you feel like you just want to cry

I won't be touching pregab anymore. I'll just rough it from this point onwards. Apparently by day 3 or 4 you are over the worst of it

Very unlikely after only 6 days.

150mg of DHC a Day for a BONE Fracture????????!!!!!!
Are the NHS some kind of Sick Sadist I wonder? What the Fuck is that gonna do for anyone?

I would take more than that washed down with Oral Morphine first thing in the Morning within 5 mins of Waking up when I had Pain Medicine.

As to Pre-gabs, yes they are amazing for being Dope sick, I owe another EADD Member Eternal Respect on this issue & you know who you are my Brother #Respect.

As to being ACTUALLY SICK from Opiates it's NOT the actual kick as any real minded person can ride it out, it's not nice but it's not like a proper illness or Pain, the people who make the Physical part sound so horrific are full of shit, go ask anyone who's been around & we all done weekends in the cells with no Bail & NO MEDICINE then taken to Court on Monday soaked in Sweat, stinking of shit etc..........You stand up like a fucking Man & accept it.

The worst part of Withdrawl is the Mental part, for that their is NO Escape, yu have to fight it out with the ghosts all alone & usually at 2-3-4-5-AM when you not slept more than 3 hours per night in 2 weeks.

So the general consensus is nothing to worry about? I was starting to also consider - is this the valium twice a week catching up to me? Obviously not every week and at small doses (10-20mg) or 1mg clonaz, with breaks of 5 to over 2 weeks at points. I went through a few mad stressful life experiences over the last 6 months. Faced redundancy, changed job twice and bought a house. Then ended up getting a fracture. So I just want a bit of calm in my life and don't want to be slapped In the tits by pregab/benzo WD. It sucks balls having to go through opiate WD due to a fracture, and I know that day 4, I should start coming out the other side. I just want to be sure nothing else is waiting for me 😂😭

My thighs and calves and constantly aching and I barely slept last night due to constantly moving my legs. Mood is also shit.

I am 100% WITH YOU right now, I am nearly 48 hours with NO Heroin, my legs hurt, my nose is running like a tap, the Sun burns my eyes etc but I am still Breathing & NOT hit down with something like Green Parrot Fever or Ebola, go figure kid ;)

Day 5 - shit was going well until I got really high on weed and now the rls feels like it had gone to my whole body 😂

If this is benzo or pregab WD I'm jumping off a cliff.

pregab wds will pass relatively soon
I have no idea if these are pregab WDs or still the opiates? I had a 1mg Xanax last night to get a good night's sleep. Ain't had pregab for a couple of days and on day 5 of no DHC.

Im assuming it's probably still opiates on day 5? I don't want to go pounding my system with drugs and get hooked on something else. That would suck.

Guys, it's day 6 and I still have quite bad rls feeling, even in the daytime. It's about my only symptom left though. Can this still be DHC withdrawal? I thought with short acting opiates you were done by day 7? I can feel the tingling/soreness all down the back of my legs when I walk about.

I'm just wondering if I need to start worrying about perhaps it's not the opiates I'm now WDing from, but those few low doses of pregab? But they just doesn't make sense.

I took pregabalin everyday for like 3 years and had no withdrawl.

I think you’re just anxiety spiraling from the opioid WD and all your symptoms are from that.

Okay cool. I just am surprised at the duration - I was expecting it all to be gone by day 6/7 being a short acting opiates. Perhaps I'm wrong?

How the hell did you get away with using pregab for that long with no WD? That's insane.

💯

I find opiate wd feels worse every time I go through it. I’ve been on and off every opi you can think of but I honestly find coming off low-level codeine-type usage almost more difficult than coming off heroin, oxy, fent or whatever.

Those are so brutal you just have to go through it and suck it up. Low-level wd just fukkin niggle at you for what seems like forever. FukkIn hate it :!

Having said all that, I’d say basically zero chance of pregabalin wd after such short, low-dose use. Almost certainly the cluck anxiety doing it’s thing. It’ll pass and you will feel better soon ❤️

Thanks for the reassuring reply Shambles. Glad to see you are still around :)

I was about to say the same thing. This is the worst WD I've had - far more brutal than anything I got from short use oxy etc. it's odd considering how dhc is so low down the ladder. I want to say this will never happen again, but annoying you can't odds breaking shit, and opis are actually useful for pain. Which means every time i touch a co codamol this happens 😂

Try to eat as much as you can, not junk food, quality food, you aren't that sick that you can't keep food down so really try to eat as much quality food as you can.

Then also drink plenty of water and try to walk those rl's away, go for a good long walk if you can, this has to be mainly mental man, you'll come good any day now.

Last withdrawal something I found that helped was cold plunges or cold showers.

It’s sucks but you do feel almost normal for like 20 minutes after wards
