6 Days after taking just half a LSD blotter and I still feel _ _ _ _ _

I have even went to the doctor and they say everything looks normal, they even did a cat scan and tested my blood.

You took the acid on saturday, and your doctor has got the results back of a blood test and had you into hospital for a cat scan within 4 working days? What country are you in?

^Your reasoning being..... ?

I suggest CoreyVan lay off all psychoactive substances, as the symptoms are likely to go away on their own with time.

x-sun-x-moon-x please don't multiple post, we have an edit button for a reason, please use it.

I don't think adding any other drugs is the answer to the problem, and I think it'll likely only make things worse.

I'd agree with Sekio that you should get your blood pressure checked out, and of course the more obvious: Eat well, stay hydrated, and get plenty of sleep, and see how the symptoms change over the next couple of weeks. :)

Also, try not to think so much about your symptoms, placebo alone can cause rather severe symptoms and if you're rather worried about this you may be making small or non-existent symptoms into large ones.

Alright, I definitely think that OP needs to refrain from psychedelic use in the future, and there may be an underlying element of anxiety disorder or neurotic / obsessive thinking at play here.

That being said, sun-moon's advice isn't totally out there. I'm not sure getting drunk is the best answer but the effects described by the OP are far more likely to be psychological than physiological. Anything that can produce an anxiolytic effect might do some good here. Maybe two or three beers and a nice relaxing and fun evening where the OP is distracted would do him a world of good...?

CoreyVan, if that was your first experience, you're already putting a lot of significance on it so that's distorting your view on the situation and it's probably what's causing your gut instinct that the LSD has damaged your brain. LSD does not cause physical damage, ever, unless you take utterly tremendous doses. Sometimes, the mind can react to such a foreign experience in funny ways. I believe that's what's happening here. It sounds like you're getting dissociative symptoms caused by anxiety. I'm not a doctor or psychologist, but I'd say your best bet is to look up derealisation disorder, see if that describes what you're experiencing, and then see a psychologist about it.

Most likely, the dysphoric feelings and even dizziness will go away on their own. I've had a similar problem just from smoking weed, and it eventually went away (and I still trip once a month or so). The key was to simply stop letting it worry me and stop giving it any attention at all. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. Gosh, I am just feeling so scared. The weird thing is that I don't feel as if I ever came down from the drug. I mean, of course I came down a little, but my vision remains how it was when on the acid. And my pupils are smaller than normal. Basically I still feel as if I am in an altered state. My vision is strange, I feel dizzy and things look the way they look if I was swaying side to side, but I am not moving. I am still able to function, but my energy levels are low and I have a headache. I am trying to get back to my regular routine..I do yoga almost every morning and am very healthy. But I am feeling dizzy at yoga and at work I cant focus and think straight, I mean my head overall feels fine, its just how I am feeling and how my vision is jumpy and I am dizzy. I am so scared, I want to cry. Is this permanent? It has to be temporary right, it was only one time! The only thing I can think is that I personally get very very effected by doses of things so so small when others can take a much larger dose and be fine. With weed for example, or xanex. I can literally take HALF of a .25 xanex and that will effect me plenty, which is a very minor dose. I am a very small girl (I am not a guy!) and my system is very clean from eating very healthy and practicing ashtanga yoga almost 2 hours every morning. So maybe my brain just got kinda shocked and is now restoring itself to balance, I am just so scared! I basically feel the same way I did the first day after coming back from the festival, no change at all. Will somebody please reassure me this is temporary? It has been 9 days now....

I promise you it is temporary. The problem inherent to this is that the more you focus on it, the worse it will seem. You have to truly commit to ignoring it and I bet you will see improvement.

A strategy some have tried is to stop "resisting" and tell yourself "okay, this is my new permanent state. I accept it and I'm going to work on adapting to it." Then go about your day as best you can. Don't search for a "cure", don't allow yourself an emotional response when you think about it, just "accept and move on". What you will wind up doing eventually is cutting off the vicious circle of obsessive thinking and anxiety that you are currently in. At that point you will suddenly realize - nothing ever really did go wrong with you except your anxiety about a possible change!

The day after acid can be rough but just remember, you do NOT have brain damage. LSD is very well studied, you have not severed your neuronal axons - you are just dealing with the psychological aftermath of a very powerful experience.

Hi guys, I am feeling a little better I suppose. Hopefully I am still recovering. I just wanted to thank you guys, JBrandon, Flickering, JesusGreen, xx sun and moon, and Roger and me, I really appreciate the help and your kind words when I was feeling really scared, and other ppl with no experience are just full of things like drugs will mess your brain up, etc. you know, they dont really know at all. And that stuff is not comforting at all. So I think you guys are really doing a service to people in here and you should know that because I know you dont always get responses. This can be your kind duty for the day. You guys rock! Thank you so much for your help, its really appreciated. I dont hang out in forums much, but if i ever see someone in need that i can help maybe i will reach out bc it really is a nice thing to do.

I also experienced something similar after an out of body and mind trip. For 3 weeks after the trip I still felt lethargic and sickly and eventually went to the doctor where after multiple blood tests and physio appointments I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After 8 months I feel better but definitely not 100%

Hey Corey, as a yogi you presumably possess a high degree of self awareness. I think that what you were/are experiencing is mainly anxiety because you can see more easily than most people the lingering effects these chemicals have on your body. Since you are inexperienced with drugs and took really powerful ones, you arn't used to this and it must have really been a shock to your system. When drugs mess my head up, the best thing for me to do is passive yin postures throughout the day as I find this clears up any anxiety or depression I'm experiencing. The worst thing I've experienced is tension in my heart/chest for over a week after taking bad E (you may have also taken impure drugs or research chems, not to scare you but these reactions are uncommon in healthy individuals with quality chemicals). I was really scared because I was unable to enjoy life during that time and thought I had wrecked my heart, but before I knew it I was back to my old self. I hope you are feeling better soon, and I think that if the ashtanga is a little too much for you while in recovery, that you could try chilling out with some yin until you are feeling 100% again.

There are many reports of people not feeling right for days, months, years after taking LSD. Don't take my word for it look it up. LSD is always of unreliable purity, synthetic, and stays in your system for too long, I could go on, but you obviously didn't react well to it to say the least so try shrooms or DMT they are natural and you can't find any long lasting negative consequences from them and are easier on your body, in fact the day after you feel awesome/enlightened usually.

I feel the need to pick you up on something too. A drug is a drug. Whether it's natural or not makes no difference, and this way of thinking annoys me. If you took mushrooms or if you took synthetic psilocybin, you would not be able to tell the difference. A chemical is a chemical whether it comes from the ground or a lab. All drugs are synthesised, either by a person or inside the guts of some plant.

Any chance he could've gotten something that is more vasoconstrictive such as DOx? OP did mention a 12 hour duration though which rules out at least DOB (haven't looked up durations for the others)... I only mention this because it is absolutely not unheard for dealers to pass off DOx as LSD.

mmmm i think you are scared and overreacting, you took a reality unfolding thing for the first time and didn't really know what you were in for, panicked and are still a bit shaken up. i think you will be just fine !

CoreyVan, any update on your recovery? I would expect most of the symptoms to be gone by now as your focus shifts away from them. Glad to know you've already noticed them starting to fade :)

If you still haven't recovered fully, an additional measure I'd suggest is getting extra sleep. I sometimes find that after taking certain drugs, usually empathogens but sometimes psychedelics, I need more sleep than usual or yes I do notice some lingering effects.

Also to give you a little more confidence, I'll give you a personal example of something similar. If I take 2C-E, I get some lasting visual distortions - minor but noticeable, that last anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, or even longer if I dose it back to back once a week or so. Along with this I sometimes feel a little confused and spacey the first few days. With rest and good diet though it always fades :)
