6 Days after taking just half a LSD blotter and I still feel _ _ _ _ _

I'll start with the fact that this was my first trip and it was awesome. I had a few moments of anxiety but I totally controlled it. The trip was a medium intensity trip. I "felt" things more than seing them distorted. The whole thing lasted like 12 hours.

The next day I felt a bit dizzy but I thought it was logical to feel that way. That same night (of the next day), I smoked one puff of a joint. It hit me hard. It made me think a lot and feel scared.

On day 3 the dizziness was still there and I decided to calm down drinking a Valeriana pill, which is 100% natural, mild tranquilizer. After an hour I felt as if I drank at least 0,75mg of Xanax. The effect was strong.

All of these days I've been feeling very dizzy. Let me explain my dizziness: It's not like things are spinning. It's more as if I had drank 2 glasses of wine really fast and then felt really tipsy and a bit disoriented. That's the way I feel. It's been 6 Days, which is something I consider like a long time for something to not have worn off, and it's not going away. I have things to do and I feel slow. This feeling reminds me of when I once was medicaded Lexapro (Escitalopram), it's very similar and paralizing.

I read an antagonist to LSD is the antipsychotic Risperidone. And I took 0,5mg last night. Not even sure if that had an effect.

What should I do?, Why am I still feeling dizzy?, I've talked to a lot of friends who have experienced with LSD and none of them have experienced this. In fact, the friend I took it with (the other half ot the blotter) is completely fine!

I know a lot of you have a lot of experience and might think this is stupid. But after reading a bunch of forums, and talking to a lot people I still find no answers. I really need your help.

That is bizarre. Somebody help this guy. Have you adequately rested? Are there any other symptoms or things you feel are "different" since your trip?

I wouldn't suggest taking an antipsychotic to cure your post-trip dizziness - if anything you might just develop more physical side effects.

How many hits did you take, and was it your first time or no? If that was happening to me I would pin it to my anxiety, I have been medicated Lexapro before and I know exactly what you're talking about. I don't think it's an actual after effect, it's just your nerves or something :/

Maybe this is a really stupid suggestion, but has anyone ever tried dramamine to calm yourself down?

I have been taking LSD for many years and I have never had that kind of reaction to it afterwards. I am inclined to say that it might be unrelated to the LSD and just a coincidence that you're having this dizziness after you tripped. OR it could have been the marijuana, or the combination of the LSD comedown + marijuana.
Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating enough food?

If this is really negatively effecting your daily life you should consider speaking to your doctor about it. If you do so, please be honest with them and tell them exactly what you have told us here.

Good luck, and let us know how you're going <3

Stop taking the antipsychotic drugs at night. Just let your system filter itself out and you'll be fine.

Antipsychotics are NOTORIOUS for making one feel "off".

I too would suggest not taking anything drugwise, be it a pill or whatnot, to try to cure the dizzyness. personally havent expereinced such effects, but one never knows. taking more drugs (like you have) might just prolong the feelings you ve been having. it is also uncommon for people to be feeling the effects of lsd for so long afterwards.

instead try to eat well, excerzise, go out and do some walking in fresh air. hang out with friends, and try to not concentrate on side effects.

best of luck

Sorry for OT, but I never got how you guys got "medium intensity" trips on half a blotter, where I've eaten a whole Mayan, considered to be one of the stronger acids thorough few years, and it was rather low, not very intense, boring comparing to other psychedelics. Some people actually told me to try doses ranging above 800mcg... lol

Everyone's different. What might be a medium intensity trip now is completely different from what one was when I first tripped.

I would say the dizziness is unrelated. There was one week when I was like 10 where I was just incredibly dizzy. So dizzy that I couldn't walk more than 20 feet without lying down. In a car i sprawled in the backseat. After a week it passed and the doctors never figured out what it was.

Because of the extremely short half-life (depending on whose data you use, anywhere from 175 minutes to 5.5 hours), that LSD was out of your system before your trip was over, so whatever you are experiencing is not a result of LSD in your system. This fact also makes your attempt to "counter" the perceived lingering effects of LSD with Risperdal (yuck) completely useless.

LSD is a pretty safe drug; something else is going on.

And taking any anti-psychotic is likely going to introduce you to flavor of dizziness you have never known. Yuck!

It affects everyone differently, but I'd much rather be able to trip off a half a tab then have to take 800mcg.

While I'm not ruling anything physiological out, a lot of people "look" for effects in the days after a psychedelic experience and oftentimes you can "find" all kinds of shit wrong with yourself. I'd venture a guess that this is mental, and if you can stop fixating on it, you'll be back to normal in no time.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all of your answers and support.

Update: I'm feelingbetter. As days pass I feel everytime a bit less dizzy. I also decided not to drink the antiphychotic for the second time.

As for the person who said there's no LSD in my system, that could be true. But this is obviously a consequence of the different neurotransmitters activity/behavior caused by LSD. I just think my system is trying to reach equilibrium.

There are many reports of people not feeling right for days, months, years after taking LSD. Don't take my word for it look it up. LSD is always of unreliable purity, synthetic, and stays in your system for too long, I could go on, but you obviously didn't react well to it to say the least so try shrooms or DMT they are natural and you can't find any long lasting negative consequences from them and are easier on your body, in fact the day after you feel awesome/enlightened usually.

you must be kidding, none of what you just said makes any sense.

In case you didn't know, DMT is extracted from plant matter using various solvents that have to be gotten out of the end product thoroughly.

Mushrooms, if the wrong sort are picked in the wild, can be deadly. This doesn't apply to actual psilocybin mushrooms but there have definitely been cases of people eating what they thought to be safe and "natural" as you put it, mushrooms, and getting sick.

LSD is semi synthetic, it is actually synthesized from a fungus as well as another chemical. Synthesis discussion isn't allowed so I won't go into any more detail. LSD isn't always of unreliable purity, if you have the right connections, it is possible to have a general idea of purity. I do not, but I know people that do. I'm getting better at differentiating LSD quality, however.

Please don't post stuff that doesn't have any actual scientific basis. LSD is no harder nor easier on the body than Mushrooms or DMT and has an equal ability to enlighten.

LSD, along with many psychedelics, actually has a short half life and stays in the body for a limited amount of time compared to other drugs.

I'm sorry but these are very basic things and I would hope you understand that LSD has a lot of myths around it that aren't true in any way. LSD synthesis can go wrong but it is much less likely for a chemist at that level to mess up than say, someone doing something easy like DMT extraction or mushroom picking. It is much easier to do those two than to synthesize LSD.

LSD isn't significantly vasoconstrictive. People have done thumbprint sized doses without proper doctors around and made it through completely fine.

Lasting longer doesn't mean anything, it just means it lasts longer, you seem to be making more and more ridiculous claims. LSD is widely known to be physically harmless.
By your logic, cocaine is much safer than LSD because the effects are much shorter. I'm sorry but that one is pretty nonsensical.

Not everyone has the amount of time to consume DMT in an ayahuasca brew.

You may not believe a word I say but hopefully a moderator, who's opinion you may respect or trust, will let you know that I am not making anything up.

I have no idea who told you those things but I wish they would stop.

You're ignoring the fact that you stated that LSD is in part dangerous because its "long lasting." I didn't make any claims about cocaine, I was making a joke about the fact that you're saying that LSD is unsafe because it lasts a while in comparison. These "raw data and testimonials" are more than likely from people who are uneducated like yourself. Look at the big and dandy guide for example. LSD can cause mental side effects, however, physically, it is harmless. This is commonly accepted among educated users. It is not commonly accepted among people like yourself that buy into myths. LSD is no more safe nor dangerous that psilocybin mushrooms. You're comparing two chemicals that are somewhat similar.

I don't "take any drug I wish." This is because I actually learn the truth, I don't just ask random people for what they think is happening and believe it to be the truth. I research on sites like bluelight and erowid.

Seriously, go read through the big and dandy LSD thread. I can't really say much more except that I hope you learn from it. Have you even looked at it before? Or read anything factual on LSD? It seems like you haven't. Check out erowid.org while you're at it.

If this guy doesn't want to take LSD, he shouldn't. A good reason, however, is not that LSD is physically dangerous, because it is not. I normally don't get frustrated or angry but you have no clue about what you're talking about. I've been told a lot of things by people like you such as "there's a guy in a mental hospital that thinks he's a glass of orange juice because he took acid and thinks he'll die if you tip him over." and one of my favorites "if you take lsd 7 times, you're legally insane." I'm sure you believe those to.

The only "dangerous" LSD that really comes to mind was Gordon Todd Skinner's "black crystal" that he purposely synthesized to make people sick. He, however, is a deranged criminal and is currently in prison. This is an exception, what commercial LSD chemist would want to make people sick or feel bad? There is no money in that, just risk of prosecution, etc. Though the trail is long, they are educated people and higher level organic chemistry isn't a joke. Not anyone can synthesize the chemical, it takes educated chemists as well as lab equipment, cleaning supplies, an incredibly difficult-to-procure precursor chemical, the list goes on and on.

LSD does not stay in your system for longer than the main effects. It's a myth that it stays in your body longer, but it is also not true that it has an extremely short half-life. It was initially believed to be the case but that is because the equipment used was simply not sensitive enough to detect the traces.

All of that is irrelevant. Serious side effects should not occur for multiple days, but if you take other drugs including medications in the subsequent days it becomes even more difficult to say what is the matter. I'm glad you feel better, just give it some time.
The number of people who experience long lasting negative effects seems to luckily be quite low, so I wouldn't worry too much but still tend to yourself. Not to scare you with a single case but there was a guy here a while ago who took acid and became severely hypochondric. I'm not by any means saying that you are, it's just an example that everyone reacts differently.

LSD is notorious for precipitating mental and perhaps physical but in those cases mostly psychosomatic symptoms that may have been there latently or just only as a potential (there is a superblurry line between those two ones). More simply put LSD brings things out in people that can be very distinct and sometimes pathological. I wouldn't weigh this occurance too heavily from what I'm reading but if you happen to experience more signs that something is out of balance within yourself, that becomes apparent after taking things like LSD, be warned in time and stop.

Also, you would not be the first person to get potentiated effects from cannabis now after having taken LSD but how strong that potentiation is and how long it lasts after a trip varies from person to person.

While I said serious side effects should not persist, psychological changes such as outlook on life, mood, feeling of purpose, lucidity, volition of thought, those things are definitely known to happen. Enough people say that they last for a lifetime although it quickly becomes a new normal baseline so it's not as much reason to worry as some LSD-naieve people think, but still it should be considered before taking a drug like acid.

I know from experience that these changes can be reinforced and consolidated by frequent use of LSD. Actually the positive and negative qualities of my character, my skills, my basic features they all seem to be amplified a lot by tripping.

Take care and be well

I will say that I didn't make the possible mental side effects as obvious in my posts, which I should have, my mistake but Solipsis did so that is taken care of.

Hi isthisreality,

I am currently having the exact same experience. It was my first time taking LSD. Today is Friday...last saturday is when I took it. It was very mild, I didnt have the best experience. Nothing like what I heard about at all, just a feeling kinda. I also took mushrooms and ecstacy friday. I never use drugs, I was at a music festival and it just kind of happened.

However, I know the dizzy feeling I am having is from the acid and nothing else. I know because its the same feeling I had when on acid and my gut is just telling me that, ya know. I know for sure its the acid. I feel dizzy, unbalanced, disoriented, and I am so so scared because that was almost 1 week ago and I still feel this way. I have to be at work, I want to live my life and I feel limited by this slow, dizzy, disoriented, unbalanced feeling. Scared what if this is permanent?? If I did damage to my head or something. I get really scared when I think of that, because nothing has ever stayed with me this long.

The people I took it with do not feel this way and I cannot find anything on the internet about it. People say that it shouldnt mess with your head permanently, especially if you only took it once. Of course there is the occasional horror story online which I am trying not to look at or hear about because it doesnt help me at all right now, just makes things worse. I read your update that you were feeling better. How long did it take you to get to this point? Please, can you find it in your heart to respond to me and possibly provide some comfort. I have even went to the doctor and they say everything looks normal, they even did a cat scan and tested my blood. Please let me know when this feeling will wear off. Like you said, maybe my system is trying to work it out and trying to reach equilibrium. I thought at first that the LSD was still in my system, so to hear that its likely not scares me even more. Please comfort me that this will go away and isnt permanent! Although I had a wonderful experience and even life changing experience on mushrooms (not on LSD), this experience has sufficiently scared me from trying anything again.
