6-apb question

Hello I've been using 6-apb for about 6 months spacing my rolls out by about a month. My girlfriend has joined me for a few of these rolls. About 2 of these times she ends up getting a very bad headache as shes coming down, to the point where she gets nauseous and throws up. After she got it the first time, we made sure she stayed hydrated, ate during and took magnesium to help jaw clenching but she still got it. This doesn't happen every time we've rolled. Quality of product is very high. I've noticed when we smoke weed on the come down (something she never does regularly) she has not gotten this headache. We want to try rolling one more time together, at a lower dose (usually we dose 150 but thinking 100-125 for her) for hopefully less side effects. Any ideas what the cause of this is potentially? I'd hate for this to turn into something very serious

Drinking enough liquids probably still doesn't completely prevent dehydration and the same goes for overheating (hyperthermia). Also blood pressure effects can do something to the blood vessels in the brain, although typically it's dilation that causes headaches, not constriction.
Oxidative stress may be another factor, it is possible that damage done by free radicals causes headache through some unknown mechanism. Anti-oxidants would help but again it's hard to prevent all of it.

Sounds like she is sensitive to one or more of these phenomena, if it keeps happening then consider quitting this compound and perhaps see if other drugs have the same effect. But don't let this be a reason to switch to (probably) more harmful stuff like MDPV, MPA or beta-ketones or whatever. It's tricky to compare the safety and harm of these drugs but some of these are downright nasty. It would be a shame if you would downgrade and let your girl partake.

Also, expect this to be merged into the general 6-APB thread, we call main threads Big & Dandy Threads and you can find them using the Psychedelic Index or the search function - look below in my signature for links.
The Beginner's Index will show you your way around PD and should save you time and frustration in the future.

Thanks, I do not plan on going any farther along the stimulant path but appreciate the advice. I only posted this question outside the Big and Dandy 6-apb thread because a couple days ago i posted this same question there but it got steamrolled by useless fighting that imo contributed in no way to overall knowledge of the compound. Thanks for your response.

Sorry about threads like I guess those of MXE and 6-APB for example. They are bound to attract folks that are not typical PD users but ones that are mostly interested about RC talk primarily of UK legislative origin. The wider the audience the scene attracts, the less group coherence there is. I've seen the inane bullshit in MXE and 6-APB threads, also they rush through pages and pages. Random crap and slowchat is inevitable, there is no way we can keep up modding all of that.

Unfortunately if we allow everyone to post separate threads about every question it would pollute the forum as well. It's a shame but as high as I hold this forum, the signal to noise ratio is too low on these topics to keep it clean so our shortcoming is without a cure.

My girl was exactly the same, she would have an amazing roll and then just feel like shit on the comedown. She would get headaches, cramps, back tightness, and a few times nausea.

It would take her about 2 or 3 days to fully recover, and then she would be fine. Our 2nd trip ever she took 160 mg spaced out over 8 hours and had a horrible comedown, lasted about a week (even though she said the trip was amazing, one she'll never forget, ha). I myself don't really get any back effects on the comedown, which is attributed to the fact that i'm alot healthier and in good shape and take care of my body imo. (I really don't know for sure, but that is my guess). My girl doesn't eat right or exercise that much and is addicted to sugar, but she is decently healthy. Maybe this is the cause? Something to look into for sure

It's very interesting you mention the health aspect aswell. I exercise daily and eat a very well balanced diet and have not had anything that i view as a terrible comedown from any substance, she on the otherhand doesn't work out much at all and eats more unhealthy foods. I'm sure this likely plays a big role in the comedown.

I think your idea of lowering your dose alongside the other great advice Solipsis gave is a good one - if your girlfriend weighs less than you it's likely she'll require a lower dose to get to the same place as you, so it's possibly if this is the case that she is getting stronger effects and as a direct result, more side-effects than you.

Another thing that's a less likely cause but worth considering - do you two smoke cigarettes when rolling? If you do I'd advise taking note of how much you're smoking, as it's easy to lose track and smoke a ton, which in itself can cause a headache etc.

I've used 6 just like you, ever month or so. Been suffering lately with similar symptoms, including worsening come-downs.

I'm not good at the chemical aspects of discussions but I've found a couple of things that have helped. Drinking, as noted, is important. However, I've been drinking sports drinks whilst using 6 - not with caffeine - and these seem to help. Another important element, raised by Jesus, is smoking. You can easily lose track. Also, 6 and weed. This combo ALWAYS gives me a headache although I'm unusually sensitive to weed (it makes me poorly).

With lower doses, those below 100. The headache, jaw clenching element seems to be significantly reduced.

Sports Drinks are a great idea! About the smoking I do turn into a chimney when i roll but she has never smoked a cigarette before.

Another thing worth mentioning, is while we talk about the "one month rule" with empathogens, it was a rule developed with MDMA in mind in particular, and even then for some people a one month break is simply not enough - Shulgin himself said more than 4 times a year was too much for him.

It's entirely possible your girlfriend needs longer breaks between rolls, 3 months is commonly suggested as a good number that pretty much no-one experiences problems with. It's also possible that 6-APB is more demanding in this respect than MDMA and that's why a single month isn't working.

If you want to test that theory out, I'd try and wait the three months before you two next roll and see if the side-effects are still there, if not, it's likely your breaks weren't long enough so you can keep up the more spaced out schedule - if that doesn't help you can decide whether to stay at that frequency or increase back to roughly once a month again.

A less likely but related thought that I figured was worth mentioning - have you taken any other serotonin releasers in that time? e.g. MDMA, 5-APB, Methylone, Mephedrone, and to some extent Amphetamine, MDAI etc? These could also contribute and with the first 3 I'd definitely recommend the one month rule for those too (though MDMA is a given), and the others also require some form of break if you don't wish to contribute to tolerance and side-effects to your rolls.

Hope this helps :)

^ Another excellent point. I'm not sure that a month between rolls is enough, particularly with 6-APB. It seems to be a very efficient user of the body's energy. After taking it, I feel completely drained, more so than MDMA.
