50mls Robitussin = 1200mg DXM?

Hi Guys,

This is the first time I've posted on this forum so have no idea where this would go.

I have half a bottle of Robitussin which is about 50mls of cough syrup. But it says that every 10ml contains 30mg of DXM. If I drink the half bottle I have which technically should be 1200mg of DXM (Is that even right? I have no idea) would that do anything to me?? I've never tried DXM but am curious.

Any thoughts would be awesome! thanks guys

no, that's entirely incorrect. you'd have 150 mg of DXM, which sounds about right since most bottles have around 300-350 mg DXM in them. 150 mg might be enough for a first plateau trip, but seeing as how you don't know anything about DXM, I recommend EXTENSIVE reading before trying it, DXM is NOT a drug that everyone (or even the average person) enjoys. Look up "the DXM FAQ" and check out some trip reports here on Bluelight before making a decision.


Just curious, how did you manage to be so off with your math? show your work! =P

haha i got ya. Also good thing you posted in here instead of just taking it if you've been drinking. Mixing alcohol and DXM is one of the worst combinations you can do. I threw up for about 6 hours straight when I drank a bottle of cough syrup after having a few shots of scotch.

^ it's very difficult to drink 1025mg of dxm in syrup. I'm pretty much a strictly 3rd and 4th plateau dexer and it takes 3 4ml (5ml?) bottles of robo. It's soooo nasty. Extraction is the way to go. Or zicam. Bleh.
