50mg Adderall for the last year, now Wellbutrin?

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster, but I'm a former meth and X abuser so I'm no nO0b.....take it easy on me, yo!


I searched but this site is so vast and I couldn'tlocate any concise answers.

I have a mild case of ADHD.....I say mild because 10mg of Adderall twice a day would be enough to control it, but I'm scripted 50mg/day for the last year and use every last bit! Controlled, well hidden and as safe as possible......I enjoy mah rekreashunz....


4 years ago I was on Wellbutrin (wish I remembered how much....mabe 300mg/day? I dunno...) for 4 months to help quit smoking and it worked...then I stopped taking the Wellbutrin. I started smoking again a year later but that's beside the point....

Recently, due to severe depresion caused primarily by a very traumatic end to my marriage of 3 years and an incredibly stressfull work environment my Doc agreed to put me on short term disability 50 days ago. In the 1st 30 days we tried Zoloft.....HORRIBLE!!!! Massive mood swings, impotence, fits of anger, uncontrollable sobbing.....it was HELL.

I just started the Wellbutrin 300mg a day and (ideally) staying with 10-20mg/day of Adderall and the 1/week "Adderall Party".

I know everyone responds to everything differently, but I'm looking for experiences with this combination and/or situation.....

All i can say that wellbutrin has a stimulant effect on people and if combined with lots of adderall, some people may not enjoy it, but u seemingly do. I would just start off kind of slow, if it has been a while since u dosed similarly. Like try a 30mg adderall "party" before the 50mg "party".

i prefer dextrostat over adderall...

Well ive never taken adderall before but ive taken dextroamphetamine many times. Im also prescribed wellbutrin for bipolar depression as its the only damn drug that works for me. I found no negative reaction from this combo but when i went speeding id skip that days dose of wellbutrin.

The combo could be dangerous because wellbutrin lowers the seizure threshold and so do amphetamines. Since wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant and is a dopamine norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor it may blunt some of the effevts of amphetamines. But im not sure about that at all so don't quote me on it.

Beware the Wellbutrin.. I was on this combo as a teenager and I would hallucinate the scariest shit.... It fucked my head all up. I had no choice my shrink and my mom force fed me these medications I would have to stick them under my toungue and spit them out... it was HORRIBLE. Be very careful. I would hate for ANYONE else to go through what I did.
