I have been on Subutex for about 2 maybe getting on 3 years, started at 8mg and got down to 2mg easy and have been on 400microgram for getting on a year. It's time to stop but both the drug worker and doctor say there are no w/d's from such a small dose, I have tried explaining that going from 10 years of opiates to nothing there will be w/d's but they say it's all in my head and I will be fine, bollocks - i wake up EVERY morning at 3-4am already in w/d's (fairly minor as far as w/d's go mind) and cant get back to sleep unless i take a dose of bupe, not to mention the cramping arms and legs that drive me insane. The short of it is I wont be getting any help from them so wanted to ask anyone who has gotten off bupe how they managed it and what it was like? I know it's not going to be comfotable but I am not prepared to do a raw cluck if it's going to last weeks. Any advice/pointers or suggestions of things that will help w/d would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance drugpants.

Of course there's a withdrawal!

Doctors and "drug workers" are paid to lie to you, on a constant sort of basis. You have to research all the kick backs doctors get before you believe a world they tell you.

Especially when a doctor is pushing an SSRI on you for simple anxiety, or just telling you to go from an insane amount of Suboxone to nothing without withdrawal, ask how much they're being paid to say that.

If you're at 400 mcg (0.4 mg), then just keep tapering by another 25 to 50 mcg before you get down to below 100 mcg. It'll be a lot less painful to taper very carefully. :D

Cheers for the reply mate. I can get down to 200microgram pretty easy but I seem to be floating in and out of uncomfortable w/d's. How long does the worse part of the w/d last if I was to get down to 200micro? The other thing is I sniff my subutex. If I snort 200 microgram when i wake at stupid o clock in the morning it gets me back to sleep and i dont wake up in w/d's. If i was to take 400microgram sublingual it has no where near the same effect. I guess I need to stop sniffing it before jumping?

You could dose every other day for like a week before jumping off... that seems to help some people.

I haven't quit myself (...yet! ;)) so I'll keep you posted with my results.
