I got in a little late on this but will give my 2cents none the less as I have lived all over the US in the last 20 years or so....
Northeast- people are super fast paced and in general have larger egos here. Traffic is horrible and you are an idiot to be caught on the road between 4-6pm. People in these areas do tend to have either be wealthy or poor, the middle class is found more in the midwest. Generally higher crime rates in this area of the country compared to others. Lots of immigrants from every country, especially in NYC and DC. New York has the best pizza ever, anyone who thinks otherwise is, well their just wrong lol. Philly has the best cheesteaks, and DC has the most powerful people in the world as well as some of the most beautiful women.
Midwest- Very friendly people for the most part, mostly middleclass, good family values, and lots of drugs.
<no drug talk in SO> You will find a lot of your rednecks in the midwest as well. The best steaks come from the Nebraska/Kansas slaughterhouses, as well as a lot of crazy weather including, but not limited to lightning storms, tornados, hail storms, blizzards, etc.
South- Very divided and semi-segregated in some areas with white/black, teenage/elderly, super religious/non-religious populations. People in Miami tend to flash more than they really have(image is everything there). Atlanta is the new Miami, and is where everything goes down. Gulf Coast beaches are amazing. Education levels tend to be lower than average for the US, and smoking is more prevalent. Super humid and mostly warm throughout the year. Great BBQ, cornbread, and fruit (especially watermelons and oranges)
West- More liberal and more relaxed attitudes towards issues such as drugs, homosexuality, lifestyle choices. Utah is based in Mormonism with stricter laws towards alcohol and tobacco consumption, but also is a great place to meet beautiful girls who haven't slept with every guy under the sun. Colorado and parts of Utah have amazing outdoor recreation mostly centered around the mountains. Arizona is the worst place to try to speed or go through a red light. AZ is also dangerously hot and dry. Vegas is a world all it's own. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and the Dakotas have practically nothing there, definitely places where you need to make your own fun.
What about California, Oregon and Washington, Alaska and Hawaii?

Good write up!
I agree with you...... On just about everywhere except I have never been to Georgia or the Dakotas- so I have no opinion of them
