Hey Words.

I was reading through my old stuff when I came across a poem where I purposely used some rather esoteric and complicated words. In fact, I didn't know what two of the words meant outside of some threadbare context clues, and I'm the one who wrote the damn thing!

I guess the question I'm asking is, what are your thoughts on using 'rare words' to fit the meter while conveying the same idea as opposed to using 'common words' that most people wouldn't need a dictionary for?

I think it depends on mood & tone, the intended meaning of the piece & things like that, as to whether I like when your rich man words are used.

i like to be high falutin' and puttin' on airs sometimes too.

I'm fine with it so long as the usage is not superfluous

I'm an arrogant prick so I like using big words somtimes to make myself feel smart.
