It's hard to compare these two since they are quite different. Have you ever tried any of the other 5-MeO tryptamines? You'll find a lot more similarities between 5-MeO-DALT and other 5-MeO tryptamines than you will between it and aMT.
That said, I can give you a little run down about the ways 5-MeO-DALT differed most from aMT:
- At a standard dose it is far less visual than aMT, upping the dose can change this but there is more room for side-effects then so not every user will be comfortable doing this.
- Visuals at an average dose consist mostly of brightening and an up-down wavyness particularly at the edges of objects.
- There is quite a strong rush of euphoria when it is smoked, one that feels very pleasurable but is difficult to compare with aMT's euphoria as it feels very unique and different.
- Unlike aMT the headspace can be more altered, confusing, and "messed up" in a similar manner to other strong tryptamines. aMT on the other hand for me feels clear-headed at all times at the doses that I have tried.
- With aMT you can clearly feel that it is serotonergic, while 5-MeO-DALT feels like a pure psychedelic at doses I've tried.
As for combining the two, there should be no contraindications but as usual with any combination I'd lower your dose of both chemicals to around half your normal dose to prevent the combination from becoming completely overwhelming. It's also worth considering that the duration of 5-MeO-DALT is substantially shorter than aMT, especially if smoked, and redosing psychedelics is hard and inefficient - so expect a super intense peak but then for the rest of the trip to be significantly weaker.
Hope this helps a little. Remember to check out
The Big & Dandy 5-MeO-DALT Thread as you'll find a lot more info and answers to your questions there
I would merge this thread with that one but as there's a comparison here and not just questions regarding 5-MeO-DALT itself I'll leave this out in the open a little longer to see what sort of replies it generates.
