5-htp or l-tyrosine regimin?

I've been taking 200-400mg 5htp daily for about a year. I just read that it can cause downregulation, which would result in tolerance. I only roll once every 3-6 months, with the same stuff every time, and both last time and the time before, I felt like I needed about 20mg more (150mg instead of 130mg) to roll as hard.

Is it more likely that the 5htp regimen or the rare rolling caused that? I guess I should stop taking 5htp? I'm confused because I thought it lowered mdma tolerance, rather than raising it. Would taking l-tyrosine daily, and taking a few more months off than usual get it back down?
 
I heard both, L-tyrosine and 5HTP synergize pretty well with each other, so i'd suggest taking them together BUT in your case i'd suggest stop taking 5HTP for a while. Daily for about a year is a long time and i wouldn't want to ingest it that regularly. Dunno about the downregulation, but in your case it seems like that so give your body a rest and see how you feel.
 
L-methionine and beans

Beans are a solid protein, plenty of tryptophan, phenylalanine, B vitamins, magnesium, potassium & carbohydrates(needed to make serotonin). They do however lack methionine, which turns into SAMe, upregulates the dopamine receptors too. I think methionine is the most overlooked supplement on this forum. SAMe is very important to neuro-health

I like to stick to the basic essential amino acids and eat healthy and let my body decide how it wants to convert them. Carbohydrates help and should ALWAYS be the central framework to any diet.
 
I killed a bottle of l-tryptophan for my upcoming roll. No 5-htp. I only use that the day or 2 after a roll.
 
@severely etarded, are there supplements that contain SAMe? Also, what sort of food contain natural SAMe? Thanks in advance.
