5-HTP and chelated magnesium bisglycenate

So I've recently come off an MDMA binge. For a month I was taking MDMA every friday night (so four times in a month) and am taking 5-htp and magnesium bisglycenate to help my body and brain out for recovery. However, since this week (using supplements for a week) I've found myself to be in a really foul mood for absolutely no reason. For example, today I've been very grouchy for no reason at all; I'm snappy and my bird isnt happy with me to say the least. Is there any link to these supplements and what I'm experiencing, or am I just having one of those weeks? There is little explanation for my mood and I find myself unable to 'be happy' at the moment.

I never get 'week long comedowns' and have never experienced any side effects from my mdma use e.g. depression and mood swings (even during this month period)


Any insight would be good, even if I'm told I'm making something of nothing and I'm just being a moody cunt ;)

Sounds like the 5HTP is fucking with your serotonin. What brand are you using? Many brands (of both 5HTP and magnesium) use dirty cuts also.

5HTP has been shown to downregulate the SERT with regular daily use.

How much have you been sleeping? Obviously sleep is a huge factor.....
 
100mg of Holland & Barrett 5-HTP daily for a week now. Stopped use today but had severe mood swings. Just trying to aid my fried brain in its repair, and I've only succeeded in mirroring my bird's mental state when she's on the blob haha.

Got a fair amount of sleep over the weekend, I'd say at least 10 hours friday night and 10 hours saturday
 
Are you exercising? Throw some piracetam, gingko biloba, and green tea extract into the mix as well.

You may just be in a bad headspace because you have decided this Friday won't be another roll... The excitement of that next experience so soon just isn't there.

I work 6-6 as an engineer so I get plenty of exercise. I cant get my hands on any piracetam, not really something I can go and buy in town.
 
Ya man if I were you I would just keep up the exercise and try to eat a well-balanced diet. Low in fat, less in junk food, good protein, and I think a good mixture of green and not green veggies is the way to go..

After binging it can be kind of like a concussion with the single worst point of trauma likely being the SERT (science debates this but that is the logical conclusion IMO).

I barely notice any side effects with a responsible dose 1-2x max and then no rolling for 3 months+. I have too also binged and went through this.

Just like a concussion/contusion, the brain takes time to heal and all you can do is regular exercise and good nutrition to optimize nourishing it back to health...

Try some memory exercises online maybe? This may help with cognitive function...
 
watch the gingko biloba, i swear that shit has triggered brain zaps a couple of times with me after mdma use. although it could be a coincidence
 
Cheers for your detailed reply mate. Already improved my diet vastly since I finished university for the summer, but I definitely agree with your 'concussion' comparison. Today was much better, daydreaming alot and felt kinda spacey sometimes but otherwise fine. No real moodswings as of yet; maybe it was my missus, she's left and now there are fewer problems .... ;)
