5 Hour energy shots (caffeine) and Vicodin (hydrocodone)?

I'm curious about this. Say I drink one of those 5 hour energy shots (I had them many times before) and take 2 vicodins (10/300) or vice-versa. Anyone ever do it before or heard of someone doing it before if so what were the effects??
 
i've drank monsters before while popping hydrocodone...its just like popping hydro with water, except you get a little energy boost from the drink. nothing special, nothing dangerous. sorta pointless thread :/ like asking what happens if i pop my vicodin with a coca cola...
 
Ive taken the 5 hour energy drink & a Norco & just got energy plus the Norco buzz mixed. Nothing dangerous or special about this mix. Its definitely not a speed ball type high or anything.

It's perfectly safe to mix caffeine and hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lortab, etc). It's not a speedball for sure, but it will prevent you from nodding.
 
I take percocet and 5 hour energy togther all the time. I find it best to wait a couple of hours to take the 5 hour energy after the oxy. It always gets me going when the med is wearing off.
 
Caffeine is sometimes put in OTC pain relievers (ie. Excedrin) because it increases the efficacy of the pain relievers. Caffeine can slightly potentiate the painkilling effects of hydrocodone, but it will not potentiate the "high".
 
Yeah kinda pointless thread I guess but just wanted to make sure and when I pop the norcs I get like kinda hyper, well not like 'talk as fast as you can hyper' but more in a sense that I have more energy to do stuff. Thanks for the answers.
 
Lets say I took 4 percocet 10's at work and is starting to nod bad could he drink a 5 hour energy drink and still keep his buzz going?

^I'd say it's possible. But if you were nodding out like BAD - REALLY BAD, then one 5 hour energy drink wouldn't do shit for you (at least for me.) When I was in New York City getting training on an ERP system (early days, and looooooooong days), I'd chug 2, sometimes 3 5-hour energy drinks at like 7am and I'd still barely be able to keep my eyes open. If I threw 40mg of IR oxy in the mix I'd be passed out face down in the keyboard, easily.

But hey, I have quite a natural tolerance for stimulants, aka, everyone's body is different.

Oh and by the way Lespaul57, you don't have to use the SWIM thing here. Just thought I'd let you know since you're still a Greenlighter. If I didn't mention this you can bet someone else would have ;)
 
Hey I appreciate it. Still new gettin used to things. I'm not super sensitive to stimulants but I'm just hoping to make it through the next two and a half hours after that its whatever.
 
Yep, the caffeine will keep you from nodding. Five hour energy is just caffeine plus vitamins. You could just as easily take a 200mg caffeine tablet and have the same effect.
 
Probably a lit cheaper to. That's all I had in my toolbox though. Good news is I drank it and I'm not really nodding anymore and still feel the effects if the percs. I actually have a script for combat related injuries but the standard two just doesn't really work for me anymore. Tolerance is a bitch.

who cares...its only 2 vicodin after all...im sure slight pain relife and 5 hours of energy at best
