4homet serotonin syndrome

Is it possible to get serotonin syndrome from a serotonin agonist, such as 4-ho-met, if overdosed? and/or what possible bad effects can overstimulating them have on your brain/serotonin receptors? Cause i did this awhile ago and it fucked me up for a bit i think. thanks

no it's not as there's no serotonin released. It just fits into the serotonin receptors like a key into a lock.

if you take too much, there's a bunch of reasons why that may fuck you up in a way you don't like but it won't be from SS.

5-meo-amt/AMT are the only ones i know of that also release serotonin, the rest of 5ht2-a psychs don't do this or if they do it's not in a significant amount, ie one that would cause SS.

people mix LSD with MDMA no problem for this very reason.

i don't think there would be any physical damage from a 4-ho-met OD but it's not been researched so i wouldn't fuck with it for that reason. However i've accidentally ODd on a few psychs and the damage was only psychological and got better once the drugs wore off.

4-ho-met doesn't increase serotonin levels, and, therefore, won't cause serotonin syndrome. SS is usually caused by an overdose of drugs that increase serotonin levels, like mdma, or from combining drugs like mdma and maoi drugs(certain antidepressants).

as the other posters mentioned, 4-HO-MET cannot cause serotonin syndrome, but if you want any kind of help, it would be useful to tell us what kind of symptoms you are experiencing? :)
