400mg Amisulpride / day (antipsychotic) with magic mushrooms (truffles)

Hey guys,

I'd like to try truffles (philosopher's stones) tonight, I have taken a lot of Psilocybe Mexicana in the past but the truffles are something new that I would love to trip on. I have been on 400mg of Amisulpride, an antipsychotic, for 2.5 years, no other medications. Will the truffles work? I read somewhere that since antipsychotics block excess dopaminergic activity in the brain, and the psilocybin is mostly serotonin-like, there shouldn't be a problem. But I also read that the shrooms could quite simply not work at all.

Can you help? I wanna take the truffles tonight.

Hi guys,

Just want to let everybody know that it didn't work one bit. 10 grams of truffles down the drain... I didn't take the Amisulpride yesterday and its half-life is 12h, so I was wondering whether almost 40 hours (roughly) would have been enough to clear me of the antipsychotic, but it wasn't. I took 5g in the morning and 5g in the evening, and all I got was a very very mild stoned effect which I had to concentrate hard on to notice - nothing else.

I heavily recommend saving your shrooms and LSD for when you're clear of antipsychotics, for at least some days. For me, it was the same as not having taken the stuff.

The thing is that your antipsychotic antagonizes serotonin receptors, as well as dopamine, which is why it didn't work. I would suggest doing more research before mixing drugs. You weren't fully understanding the pharmacology of the antipsychotic, and though this is a safe combination and the only consequence was that you didn't trip, it could have been much worse.

Do you have any info on Kratom and antipsychotics by the way?
I would like to drop the Kratom tonight but (as usual) I can't find anything regarding interactions with antipsychotics
