I envy the bliss of the unparranoid.
Been off suboxone for 40 days now, while I have not been totally drug free or the best example, I’ve managed to stay clear of opiates.

Still get intermittent anxiety and depression but the one constant symptom that has been relentless is the insomnia.

I am wondering if there are any others who have experience with this and if so, when insomnia started to improve? I’ve tried pretty much every OTC remedy and benzos, seroquil, trazidone with little to no success. Exercise helps with falling asleep but I usually wake up after 1-2 hours and then I’m up for sevral hours after that.

This is obviously variable for everyone but I’m just curious about other people’s experiences. It’s a little frustrating but a small/temporary (hopefully!) price to pay to be off that shit.

Any insight from anybody would be appreciated :)

Much love

I think it depends on how long you were taking sub, and what dosage you jumped from. I quit H, fentanyl, and oxy 33 days ago, and sleep with no help didn't come back till day 26-28, and the days leading up to that day were not full nights sleep, and many sleepless nights early on.

Nice work with quitting, that’s great! But damn those are shorter acting than subs so the WD generally isint as drawn out (still tough as hell to get off of, nonetheless)

I was on methadone for a few years then switched to suboxone for about 4 years, so I was on maintenance for about 8 years total.

I’m beginning to think it may take several months or even a year to return to normal sleep. Just hoping I’m not stuck with insomnia for the rest of my life.

One of the best practices for getting ready for sleep is an epsom salt bath--so relaxing. Do you have a bathtub?

I was only on sub for 9 days. I am now on my fourth night without sleep and I have only been off of sub for 12 days.

Can't sleep can't eat can't shit.

Ella, a combination of .2mg of clonidine, and 3mg of melatonin helped me get some sleep. I didnt get full nights until 3 weeks after my short term sub taper, but even 3-4hrs was helpful. I don't know if you have or can get clonidine, but i know you can get melatonin. Hang in there ella, you're through the worst part, even if it doesn't seem it right now. Each day gets a little better.

everyone is different though, and although they're short acting opiates, i have a family full of addictive personalities, and i was no different. Fentanyl isn't that short acting either, extremely potent, and i was chomping on them fuckers like candy. Fent wd is no joke.

I believe it man, wd from full agonists is pure hell, I hope I diddnt come across like I was downplaying your situation. I couldn’t handle the withdrawal from full agonist opiates, so I went on suboxone hoping it would ease the transition. I found the wd a lot less intense but some of symptoms linger for so damn long, in my case, brutal insomnia.

I did a quick taper from 4mg to 1mg then jumped off. How long were you on opiates for?have you been doing? Hope you’re well :)
