4-ho-mipt (Miprocin) Question About Tripping After Weak Trip

Howdy there Bluelight peeps! I have been referring to this form multiple times about my drug related questions and I can not seem to find my (proper) answer this time... So here I go with my first post here!

My friend is quite new to psychedelics (only a few LSD trips) and recently tried his 1st tryptamine - 4-ho-mipt. He started by taking +-25mg on an empty-ish stomach. There were some effects that were noticeable and were as follows: the slightest breathing only in center of vision, no patterns except slight grey on side of vision, slight 2d CEV's, little to no change in headspace (have had a more pronounced head space change on weed), only felt like he was tripping 2 brief moments, and the "peak" lasted an hr and was dead sober after 4 hrs. Overall, he said it was a low level 2 trip and was not profound in the slightest. He has a brother who has tripped 40mgs and has gotten full blown ego death and powerful visuals from the same bag.

My friend had been waiting a long time to trip and was very disappointed and would like to try a higher dose (30 - 35mg) because that seems when miprocin suddenly skips from being a "level 2 trip" on 20 - 25mgs to a "level 4 trip" on 30 - 35mgs.

When would be a good waiting period until he can try that higher dose? He plans to do Friday but is eager and would like to do it earlier this week.

P.S. - I understand that after a deep, imersive, and impactful trip, one should wait a few weeks before tripping again but this trip was, supposedly, almost too weak to notice. My thoughts are that tripping again so soon would be fine because the lack of a trip last time.

What do you guys think? And how much should the dose be adjusted?

Thanks!

Miprocin is strong enough that it's extremely rare to feel very little effect from 25 mg. Regardless, I don't think your friend has to worry about tolerance too much, if his trip was so weak to begin with.

Hey Sir Nose D'voidoff, welcome to Bluelight. :D

Honestly, that reaction to 25 mg of 4-HO-MiPT doesn't sound too different from my own. I personally have found this chemical to be somewhat variable in this way, with some reporting strong visuals and euphoria from lower doses, and others not being that impressed compared to other tryptamines even with higher doses. I am in the latter group myself, as 50 mg did give me the full psychological trip of a classic like LSD or mushrooms, but still was honestly fairly underwhelming in a hallucinogenic sense. What I got out of it would probably be impressive to someone new to psychedelics though, but it didn't really do much for me after a lot of the other tryptamine experiences I've had. Ironically, MiPT and 5-MeO-MiPT, two very closely related molecules that are often considered to be only very weakly hallucinogenic, have so far been two of the most intensely visual drugs of my entire psychedelic career; I have no logical explanation for it.

Like TheAppleCore said, tolerance generally isn't much an issue after weak trips, especially if there has been at least a couple days in between the experiences. There is always the chance that the effects will be slightly reduced still, but I don't think most people really have much trouble after a low dose. Your friend may want to note though that while a higher dose could make up for the weaker effects from before, it also might not. If there's one big thing related to all this that I've learned from trying so many different molecules, it's that some drugs just aren't for some people, even if they're really popular in general, and that's okay. I've often found that the same people also benefit more greatly from other substances that many often don't, such as my personal experience with all the different MiPT-based psychedelics. So, I'm not saying that it won't be a fantastic experience either, and I do very much enjoy a full dose of 4-HO-MiPT myself when I intend to take it for what it is for me, I would just encourage keeping an open mind. Even if one psychedelic doesn't quite do it for anyone, there are always more objectively equally great ones to try out as well.

Anyway, good luck with the whole thing. :)

I honestly have no idea how many people that story is about. If you're just talking about yourself, please just say so. We don't SWIM here or anything like because it just makes detailed reports like this very confusing and doesn't afford any sort of legal protection whatsoever.

As for the trip, it sounds pretty intense. I guess I need to lose my cannabis tolerance; the way I described a higher dose being somewhat hallucinogenically disappointing to me sounds a lot like how you described the trip before smoking, but I also smoked and it didn't change it that much probably because I smoke every day. I'm glad it was much more fulfilling this time, it sounds like quite the trip. :)

Also, about your(?) brother, no kidding lol. I haven't taken a 4-substituted tryptamine yet that doesn't seem like it would produce one of the craziest trips of all time at that kind of dose. I personally feel that most of these tryptamines are capable of going much, much deeper than LSD or most of the older common research chemicals like the 2Cs, they just tend to be less directly recreational and require higher doses, and I still do find LSD to be the most therapeutic of all for me.

Be careful with that 80 mg.... It's likely going to be a lot more intense than you're expecting. Absolutely make sure you've got someone watching over you to make sure you don't hurt yourself and all that. To be honest I think it's going to be overkill and that if you're that new to psychedelics you probably won't be able to appreciate it for what it is, get much out of it, or possibly even remember much of it, but if you're going to do it anyway you should definitely be as responsible as possible about it.

Anyway, thanks for your sharing your story. Safe travels, friend. <3
