RCs 4-FA solution turned yellow?

Hi,

I'm going on roadtrip tomorrow (1300 miles), and mixed up a solution of 4-FA in water to sip along the way. It's about 1g/500ml. I did this this morning.

While loading other shit in the car tonite I noticed it turned a shade of yellow. It was not in sunlight, max temp in car today was like 70 degrees.

Is it still active? Will it be so at 4 or 5 pm tomorrow?

Did you use no preservative?

Merely putting a drug in tap water, is going to render it useless in due time. Bacteria grows in water, and the only thing you can do to stop it is to use a preservative.

blakmike you probly got shafted with 4-fmc... ie: the cathinone derivative of 4-fa.

put almost any cathinone in an amount of water will turn it a yellowish colour.

If enough time passes and a solution starts to go bad, you can visibly see the bacteria grow in the water. Did you not know this?

yeah but bacteria has nothing to do with a drug turning water yellow in a short amount of time.

infact amphets have a certain level of antibacterial action, i doubt 4-fa is much different.

If he used tap water it's ok, it has -OCl biocide agent, bacteria won't grow in tap water for a while. I would be much more concerned of the reaction between chlorine or calcium and your 4-Fa. Add propylene glycol next time to make sure no bacteria grows but I think it's more of a reaction with the chemicals in water or else it wouldn't turn yellow. Water bacteria is often colorless and bad smelling. Also, next time use demineralised water at 60ppm salts.

I would not expect 4-FA to degrade that quickly. But it sounds like that's what happening. It's not bacterial action, not within 12 hours or so. I would suspect questionable product, or impurities.

Does the powder have an odd, vaguely fishy smell? (like cathinones, if you're familiar with the smell of those) If so, it's probably a cathinone, not 4-FA, as another poster suggested.

I just threw a dab of my 4-FA into a vial of water to test whether it turns yellow, i'll let you know - probably too late for your immediate purposes.

Edit: 10 hrs later, it's still crystal clear.
