4 ambien CRs. 12.5 mg. at one time. what can I expect?

I would be more worried about your recklessness. If you were unsure what to expect, meaning you didn't know how they would make you feel etc.. why did you take them? That makes absolutely no sense. I don't know much about Z-drugs, but you took basically a little over 4 doses.
Chances are you'll sleep for a long time (or black out). Don't drive... PLEASE! Also, don't mix them with anything else. Just ride it out (unless you decide to see a professional, which is probably not needed, 4 ambiens isnt going to kill you.)
Or, you could make the smart choice for once and at least call up the nurse hotline and ask them. This isn't a forum of doctors, and no one here is going to give you advice that could lead to death, injury etc.
I've taken 30mg of a potent benzo at once before with zero tolerance, and basically just had 30 hours erased from my memory luckily as long as you don't mix them with anything they are forgiving. Just don't go driving please. And next time, research the fucking drugs you take. This might be a safe-ish drug, but god damn dude. Do you walk up to a car dealership and buy the first car you see, and then ask your buddies if they think its a good choice?

Damn dude! One of those used to have me stumbling around the house and falling into walls! 4 is just reckless, if they're recreational for you, you just blew 4 chances to partake; see my point? You probably won't be seriously injured but you sure as hell won't remember anything. Chill out crazy man!

Are you alone? Taking more than the recommended dose is associated with increased risk of things like sleep walking, sleep eating, sleep driving... basically getting up and doing stupid things while you're impaired. If there's someone else there, get them to monitor you and make sure you stay in bed. Which is where you'll probably spend the next two or three days.
