This is my 2nd time dosing mipracetin, although it is only my first valid experience as my first one (with 14 mg), was confounded by oxycontin and a very full stomach. I ingested 14 mg orally on a full stomach so as to slow the comeup; I didn't come up for 3 and a half hours
Bad idea.
16 mg of the fumarate salt equates to about 13 mg of the tryptamine, which hit me harder than I expected it to.
Around 8:45 dosed 16 mg well-stirred in grape juice, the stuff did not want to dissolve and had a VERY bitter chemical taste.
Not much happened for the first hour, my trip partner and I picked up some good pot and went to the store for fresh fruit and drinks to sustain us during the trip. First alert at 20 minutes maybe, at 45 minutes definitely 'something' there.
Escalating rapidly at +1:15, continuing for an hour until reaching a peak at ~2:15 hours in. Not much in the way of body load, seeing kaleidoscopic patterns on the eyelids, major open eye visual distortions, felt comparable to shrooms in headspace, but resembled LSD more with the electric body energy I was getting.
We were watching Pink Floyd's The Wall for most of the trip which was very confusing at times because I was unsure if I was seeing visuals or if the film had visuals built into it. I've never seen it before and I'll probably never watch it again (way too long). This was the first time I've ever stared at a TV screen while tripping, let alone for the better part of 2 hours.
Once the film was over (about +3:30), my friend and I decided to go skate around the parking lot of his apartment. Skating was a lot of fun on this stuff, and it was funny to watch the antics of my friend as he carved the hell out of the concrete surf-style. The cold wind blowing in my face and the smears of color in my visual field coupled with the amazing lightness of my body and the ease with which I sped down the lot made me feel as if I were flying, I enjoyed myself immensely.
By +4:30, we decided we were very near baseline and decided to turn in. My friend drove me back to my dorm and we parted ways, both agreeing that we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I got in bed at 1:30 am and laying down to sleep, realized that the drug was not quite through with me, I was still having minor open and closed eye visuals, but after a good hour of meditative breathing techniques I was able to calm my body and mind enough to fall asleep by 3 am. The duration of this stuff makes it truly a Monday Night Psychedelic.
Woke up at 12:15 pm today feeling somewhat rested, but still quite tired, and I've had a low grade headache since then, which I attribute to the intense mental stimulation I experienced last night.
On the whole, I would give this drug a two thumbs up for duration, mental, visual, and physical effects, and relative lack of body load. As for side effects, I noticed just a slight pressure in the temples and some mild stomach discomfort, which is to be expected.
