There were 3 of us holed up in a bedroom, all semi-experienced with psychs at this point. The mood was light ... we watched some comedy. This was to be our first experience with 4acoMIPT (fumarate). We dosed orally, in caps.
Mr Hardhead dosed 25mg. Ms Unsure dosed 10. I dosed 20.
Onset:
Very brief, 30-60 minutes for us all. I was the first to go at 30. I could feel it manifesting very quickly. Within another 30min I was tripping very hard.
Come-up:
The rise was a little shakey. We all felt nauseated and a little dizzy/disoriented. The shivers set in quickly and there was an uncomfortable tremor. It began to kick in so quickly and violently that it was like an inner earthquake. I remarked that I felt like my head would explode.
Peak:
Within 90min, the peak errupted in insane body energy, a landslide of thought, and rainbow of visuals. I rubbed my legs and arms together violently under a blanket. Mr Hardhead had what looked like a full on seizure although he remained coherent ... he vibrated as if being electrocuted on the floor ... legs kicking objects all around him. Ms Unsure moaned and rolled around on the bed.
The energy was quite intense, and we all looked like malfunctioning robots with water in our circuits. Some very strange and funny contortions. Mr Hardhead was making a lot of wild 'Beavis' type high pitched sounds.
We all saw flourescent colors, mainly purple, blue and yellow. The colors had a sense of rapid movement as if through a tube ... like a neon city was being illuminated. My visuals were very angular and bright. They reminded me of 80s graphics and I kept thinking of old brick-style vid games like Arkanoid.
My head space was uncomfortable. The initial sensation was so fast and alien that it reminded me a lot of salvia. The speed and darkness had as all a little frightened. I started to feel quite insane and was being bombarded with negativity. I held on for about 30min after the peak just for the visuals ... that's how good they were.
Plateau:
Over time they became less rapid and more fluid. I saw a lot of purple and blue ... rainbow type images, flowing and melting. Very fluid and very bright. Hardhead and Unsure both remarked as to blinding flashes with closed eyes ... a sort of neon strobing.
I took 1mg of klonopin to relieve the anxiety which was at the point where I was ready to flip out. Hardhead was obviously struggling with his dose, still writhing and weezing, but he decided that he wanted to tough it out, and said he was having a blast regardless. Unsure just hid under the covers and tried to deal with her body load.
Every once in a while we were able to get our heads above water and discuss things, but for the most part we were too busy with the rapidly changing head space to acknowledge one another.
In time the energy subsided, and the thoughts and patterns slowed and became more friendly.
Come-down:
The descent was very gentle and pleasant. No hangover besides some stomach cramping. Sleep was easy for all. Total duration of the trip was about 4.5 hrs.
Conclusion:
Hardhead says it was the best trip of his life ... he said it was too intense to function on, but that the hallucinations were better than he could have ever imagined. He had tactile, auditory, and visual, all pleasant and vivid. I found my dose a little too strong to be enjoyable. I wasn't crazy about the very confusing headspace, but the visuals were certainly breathtaking. Unsure didn't have anything positive to say about it, and said she wouldn't bother using it again.
In the future, I'll try dosing via a drink over a longer course of time ... hopefully that will curb the jarring come-up. I'll also try a lower dose to ease into the mental hurricane. Definitely an interesting experience. Can't wait for my next trip. :D
