The other week I decided I wanted to go up in the mountains and go on a trip so I went to visit a friend and he turned me one to 20 mgs of 4-aco-dmt. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it so I put it in a very tiny toilet paper parachute and put it in a small piece of tin foil. I have been quite busy lately so it took me a couple of days to get the free time but I finally got a free day.
I got up early did some things and was ready to go about 9:00 or 10:00. I got a couple of water bottles, my 4-aco-dmt and got on my mountain bike and made my way to the mountains. I got to the trailhead and locked up my bike and started hiking.
I live on the front range of the Rocky Mountains were the valley turns to the mountains. It is a very amazing place. The foothills are very rich, a variety of eco systems collide here so there are many kinds of native grasses trees and animals. At the top of the foothills are the flatirons, which are huge rock walls that rise vertical into the sky.
I was going to hike to a place that I know that is off of the trails where I have never seen any people and take the 4-aco-dmt. It is about a mile and a half hike up the foothills to the place where I was going to cut off so I made my way up the foothills.
I have had a lot going on lately and have been discouraged about my headspace and the amount of worries and worthless thoughts that have been occupying my mind. I was hoping a good trip in the mountains would clear some things up and put me in a more peaceful headspace.
I got to the spot where I was going to cut off the trail it is a nice sloping hill that goes up in to the flatirons. I get off the trail on to the sloping hill and go a few hundred yards and get out my 4-aco-dmt and a water bottle it was about 11:30. I forgot a chaser to kill the taste of the chemical so I was kind of worried. I got out the tiny parachute put it in the back of my mouth and washed it down with a gulp of water. No taste at all and washed down very easy, amazing I think this is my new way to consume chemicals.
I start to hike a bit going slow and looking for animals. I saw a few deer they had their winter coats and looked healthy. Up a ways the forest get thicker and there is lots of rocks and small cliffs. I am pretty sure a mountain lion lives up in here somewhere so in the back of my mind I am hoping to see a mountain lion I know it is not very likely especially in the middle of the day but it is a small dream that lingers in the back of my head.
I get up to where the forest starts to get thick and I can feel the chemical starting to kick in it has been about a half hour. I find a good space to sit down it is a place where I hang out a lot and enjoy the view. I sit down and relax and look around as the chemical comes on.
For me there is always about ten minutes of the come up of 4-aco-dmt that is kind of uncomfortable. I feel slightly off and the visuals get a sharp unpleasant edge. I get over that 10 minutes and I am feeling good I start to get a DMT buzzing and then a few minutes after I get a rush the buzzing goes away and I am peaking.
It is such an awesome peak I am blown away at the view and the visuals. As I look off in to the beauty of it all I am just so amazed. I look around and I am sitting on the edge of the Rocky Mountains and can see them go down the sides of my view for more then a hundred miles with vertical walls behind me, the plains in front of me as far as I can see. The colors become so bright and rich everything just glows. This reminds me why I do psychedelic drugs for moments like this one!
I started to watch a flock of nuthatches that were in the blue spruce trees by me. When I looked up into the trees I could see the geometrical patterns that the branches made as they fanned out to reach for the sun and as the ones going up the tree fanned out in a pattern to let the ones below get light it made a pattern going up the trees. So the whole trees were a complex latticework of 3 dimensional geometric patterns so full of color and detail it was humbling.
As I watched the nuthatches go about the trees looking for food they hopped and flew around these patterns in and out. I felt like I was watching a family in their home go about their daily lives. I realized that the trees were there life they were born in theses trees and the live in these trees and they will build a nest and have babies in these trees. I was watching an ancient pattern thousands maybe millions of years old. It felt very powerful like a look at the root of life and nature something much more powerful then myself.
I started to feel cold it is winter and a little chilly out so I decided to walk a bit and get my blood flowing. I would walk about 30 or 50 feet stop and look around really quiet so as maybe to see some wildlife.
A black albert squirrel saw me and came running over trough the trees. He ran up and looked at me very curious and then he started begging, someone must have feed him before. The albert squirrels have ear tuffs that make their ears pointy so it reminded me of a little dog the way it has coming up to me and begging. I had no food so I told it “no” and it was still begging so I told it no about 3 or 4 times and it went away just like a dog.
I walked around a bit in the rocks and forest looking for signs of the mountain lion seeing none. It is winter and the sun is low and started to get close to the edge of the mountains and make a shadow so I started slowly making my way down the mountain. Walking a bit and stopping and looking around enjoying the scenery. I was starting to come down now feeling good but I could feel the chemicals starting to wear off, it was about 2:00 or 2:30.
I started to get close to the trail I saw my footprints that I made on the way up just before I took the 4-aco-dmt. When I saw them I remembered walking up to the mountains and pictured myself and the mindspace I was in before. I felt much more calm and at peace with myself it made me feel lucky to have had this medicine and a place to take it.
I made my way home smoked a good hit of 5-meo-dmt the perfect way to wrap up a good trip. Ate some leftovers and was back to my normal self.
This was a great trip for me it took away a lot of stress and it felt so good to go up in the mountains and have a trip.
4-aco-dmt is beginning to be one of my favorite substances. My trips are starting to get deeper the more I do it but it is in nice gentle layers not overwhelming. It is starting to give me a lot of mushroom type experiences but with out a lot of the side effects I don’t like with mushrooms. The only unpleasant effect it gives me is for about 10 minutes before the peak it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. Other then that it is smooth and clear with no hang over. Very nice stuff.
