314 chemicals in cigarettes?

those chemicals , most of them must be on a part per trillion level, the number of chems able to be detected has risen due to advances in chemical analysis, GC-MS has been superseeded as a tool for identification of chemicals in trace quantitie s by some thing or other which i cant remember cos i wasnt paying attention in the lecture :) , apparantly can resolve trace chemicals at 1 part per trillion.. nuts eh what scient can do..

damn, do i know some people who needs this info shoved right in their fucking face.
They're the types that justify smoking as so ("it relaxes me" "it helps be social")and belittle every other drug. That ignorance is insufferable.

What does a part per trillion level signify?
And what about cigs having no nicotine in them? what about those nicotine patches?

that's interesting, since sugar and potassium nitrate supposedly make the best smoke bombs. and potassium nitrate is also used for gunpowder, and a couple other interesting formulas.

parts per trillion meaning that it probably doesent matter unless you chain smoke 5 packs a day...

oh yeah, and since different plant species concentrate minerals idiosyncratically...
tabac supposedly likes to concentrate lead "relatives", including the lovely alpha-particle emitter Po-210 (and what better place to capture the free-radical-generating alpha than sticky, tarry, moist, easily permeable alveoli, deep in yr poor lungs?)
i quit ciggies last thursday...

i'm cutting down myself. i was down to one a day, but then i got ahold of some lites, and they just don't do anything, so i'd smoke like 3-4.
to stop this, i've been cutting the lites filters in half. damn i'm such an addict.
